So I'm thinking about revamping my style at work for something like a 40's/50's glam girl sort of look. I usually dance to really hard rock, but I don't feel like that will match with this look. Any suggestions of stuff I can dance to instead?

Something slower definitely. Jazz stuff would go nicely. Judging from what others had written about how it goes over with the crowd seems nice. First thing that pops into my head is slower Lenny Kravitz, Hooverphonic stuff and Portishead.
Rockabilly. Some of the stuff on Christina Augularia's new album has a retro vibe to it.
Either rockabilly or as someone else stated Portishead maybe even slower tricky and goldie.
It's one of those looks where you have to decide if you want to go "dark" like the trip hop mentioned
or light with rockabilly .. even social distortion she's a knockout would be perfect for it.
Try some of these on for size;
Betty Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes
Sexy and Seventeen - Stray Cats
When She Begins (to rock) - Social Distortion
Rock This Town - Brian Setzer
One Time For Me - Reverend Horton Heat
Jezebel - RHH ^^^
Buddy Holly - Weezer
Born With A tail - Supersuckers (For shits & giggles...not for a religious uptight crowd)
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I'm going to have to look up some of those songs an have a listen, I'm not familiar with all of them. I looove portishead, but my club doesn't have any. I should check and see if we're allowed to bring cds in.
I would rock it rockabilly style, but that's just me. Try these...
Reverend Horton Heat
"Jezebel" as DJ Maimed mentioned is an awesome song!
"Native Tongue Of Love"
"Mi Amor"
"Hello Mrs Darkness"
"Love Whip"
"It's A Dark Day"
"In Your Wildest Dreams"
Southern Culture On The Skids
"Scratch My Back"
"House Of Bamboo"
"Theme From The Cheaters"
"Banana Puddin"
"Shotgun"
"Pass The Hatchet"
"Girlfight"
"Galley Slave"
"8 Piece Box"
"White Trash"
"Camel Walk" (one of my favorites!)
"Greenback Fly"
Hillbilly Hellcats
"Crazy Little Baby"
"I Like Whiskey"
"That's Not Rockabilly"
If you want to try something a little harder you could try some psychobilly
Horror Pops
"Julia"
"Emotional Abuse"
"Baby Lou Tattoo"
"Dotted with Hearts"
"Psychobitches Outta Hell"
"Miss Take"
"Girl in a Cage"
"Ghouls"
"Drama Queen"
"Who's Leading You Now"
"Walk Like a Zombie"
"Trapped"
"It's Been So Long"
"Hit 'N' Run"

"Reincarnated Love"
"Nekrofelia"
"Monster Movie Fan"
"Jack The Stripper"
"Dial 666"
If you're looking for a more traditional glam 40's you could try some big band music or similiar, although it's a bit harder in a strip club without pulling it as a feature show. Caravan is one of my favorite big band songs and there are tons of versions of it.
Benny Goodman
"Blue Skies"
Artie Shaw
"Nightmare"
Glenn Miller
"In The Mood"
"Five O'Clock Whistle"
Duke Ellington
"the Minor Goes Muggin' "
Dizzy Gillespie
"Dizzy Atmosphere"
LOL, didn't realize I was posting so much!
I would go dark, like Ministry and Thrill Kill Cult. I love those sexy babes who look so innocent dancing to nasty dark music. more impact than a goth girl dancing to the same music.
Some original 50s rockabilly gals for ya
Wanda Jackson "funnel of love"
Brenda Lee "sweet nothings"
Ruth Brown "You're a stone groovy thing"
Janis Martin "bang bang"
Rose Maddox "move it on over"
Barbara Pittman "getting better all the time" (<---reeeeally good if you do a virginal 'good girl' set!)
I rock this look sometimes and I like dancing to the Stray Cats, R. L. Burnside, Taj Mahal, Nina Simone, and Patti LaBelle. It definitely stands out.
:D
