How to stop the bad nights...
Recently I've worked Saturday, Monday and Thursday, planning on working Saturday& Sunday too. Saturday I made the minimum I have to make to not go home complaining- but i had to fight and work for it like crazy. Monday I barely broke 100 after tip outs, and last night I barely broke 100 after tip outs as well- and I wouldn't of even made 20 if my regular didn't come in and buy 5 dances right off the bat when I got in at 9. It was impossible to get dances- it was like there was a force field around the stage and no one was sitting at the rail- hardly any of the girls had even one guy at their rack, even at main stage. All the customers were sitting at the bar or at close-by tables so they could watch but not tip. It was ridiculous. Since I'm a minor, the only way I hustle is from the stage, and if no one is at my rack, I'm pretty much screwed. I even went up on the minor "stage" (a counter by the bar with a new slippery granite surface) to try and attract customers, but they stuck to the bar like glue.
After tipping out minimum 10 to the dj and bouncer, house fee of 25, and taxi home of 20, I tipped out 65, over half of what I made. ridiculous. IT seems like this is a trend too, my money just slowly going down.
Maybe it's because school is starting next week for those with kids? Rent due? end of the month? august? I dont get it, usually despite these factors I still make money. I haven't done anything drastically different with my body, if anything i think I look better- my boobs are bigger b/c i'm on the pill now, I'm pretty tan, I think i've lost a little weight, I know how to do my hair and makeup really well now... I just don't understand it. I smile, I come in with a positive attitude, I do everything possible, and still... no money.
it makes me feel worthless.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
I just had a weekend like this. I was feeling all great about me and how I looked, danced, hustled, etc, then came in and made nada. There was some money to be made over the weekend, but not by me! I think a lot of it was regulars.
Summer is almost over though-we must hang in there! Neither you or I are worthless. We are awesome strippers who hit a bad weekend. It will improve. :drink:
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
Sorry to hear this, hon. Sometimes there just isn't any quality clientele. It's not you and don't let it bring you down, if you do it will snowball.
The last time I worked it was horrible and the club was crowded, but crowded full of assholes. I had my ass grabbed for the first time and it infuriated me...Grrrr! I picked myself apart, too...NOT GOOD.
You are not worthless, sometimes the crowd is, so just roll with it and consider it practice for when you have those super good nights.
Stay positive, keep trying. Right before a Holiday weekend ( like Labor Day) people are tighter with their money. We all have crap nights, save your money and keep at it. I'm sure things will get better soon, ride it out in the mean time.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
It's the end of the month. My Wed night was lame too. The dressing room was crammed with girls, you would have thought it was 7 pm on a Friday night but it was a dead-ass Wed! It's always bad for the last few days in the month and the first few days into the beginning of the month. Thats when there are always way more girls working, because everyone who didnt plan ahead is there scrambling to make rent. Not only that, it seems like the desperation in the air makes the customers not want to spend either.
Once the rent scramble is over it'll get better.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
This week HAS been bad because of back-to-school things, the upcoming holiday, and end of month rent frenzy. Just save what you can and assume it will be better next week.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
A couple things you need to consider:
1. Back to school season --> less money from customers
2. Bills are due --> more strippers working
3. Labor Day weekend ---> more strippers working to take the weekend off
4. It's August, one of the slowest months for strippers.
It will pick up mid-September. Promise. Keep your chin up until then.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
i left with twenty bucks on wednesday.
i left a little early and i have bronchitis, but still, i feel ya man.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
and since bills are due, not only are more girls working, but theres less money from customers.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
I had my worst night EVER last night. No lapdances, not even stage tips. Plenty of customers though. The only consolation was the fact that a LOT of girls had 0 dances and the lap dance room was often empty. No one was happy....and why is it always the night where I actually feel prettier than usual, do my makeup extra well, start off genuinely happy...and then..nada....Polar opposite of a night a few weeks ago where I wanted nothing less than to leave, barely had any makeup on, didn't chat up many people, that people were stopping ME to dance for them.....Just wasn't in the cards last night.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
I've going to stop my bad nights by working more hours during the rest of the month so I can avoid the end of the month slump entirely. Rent scramble is my time off. It's just too mentally draining to go in on nights where there will be 100 desperate girls, while during the rest of the month there only would have been 50. Even as a top earner it hurts my hustle when there is already a girl on every table. I can't make the kind of money I expect, and when I fall so short of my goal it puts me in a bad mood for days, plus makes me dread work.
So yeah, I'm going to expect the same monthly earnings, I'm just going to do it long before the last minute crowd shows up. If that means I work an extra day or two in a mid-month week thats fine. Over all, my nightly average will be higher that way, and my attitude towards work will be soooo much more favorable.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
Should I just not go in tonight and wait until Monday to do my obligatory slow night shift??
I really don't even feel like going in, because I know if I get another night like the ones I had this week I'm just not going to want to dance for awhile... I need the money, but not that bad that I can't spare tonight off.
then again, it is saturday, and last saturday i made 300... worked like crazy to get it, but i got it.
so... should I wait til after the first week of sept when this bad streak is over or just suck it up and go in?
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
I walked with $60 in stage tips and $50 in lapdances that I wait until Wednesday to collect on. Augh. Going to my old club tonight for the Saturday rush hoping to make a decent amount.
Re: How to stop the bad nights...
Don't forget this weekend is Labor day weekend, too. Not only are the rent money dancers coming out of the woodworks, but the customers are busy with family events or going out of town. I'd only go in if I had a regular lined up, and only if he would spend enough to make most of my night. Labor day has always sucked for me.
