Re: The Business of Dancing
I've given a work email address to the really spendy customers. Phone IMO is too much hassle, but I know some girls do the prepaid thing and it works for them. I like the email because I can just let them know when I'm working without having to bullshit through a conversation or make it look like I'm begging them to come in.
Re: The Business of Dancing
I have a work email too. It can be somewhat annoying, but not as much as the phone. I like to have time to really think about how to word stuff.
I tried a pay as you go cell phone for awhile, but I could never remember the number, and I barely bothered with it. Talking on the phone with a custie is a big, awkward pain in the butt to me.
Re: The Business of Dancing
i have a phone but only accept texts. i tell them this too, if they try to call i won't pick up.
Re: The Business of Dancing
I set up a private voicemail to give to my customers. Its free and the guys think its your real number. Go to privatephone.com. Its awesome!
Re: The Business of Dancing
I have a myspace and email.
Re: The Business of Dancing
Ditto on the myspace and email.
Re: The Business of Dancing
Yep...work myspace page and a work email address.
Re: The Business of Dancing
Do you get a lot of random guys emailing you from myspace? That is my one hesitation with that ... people can get weird! :-\

Oh yeah tons. But if they get annoying I just block them.
Re: The Business of Dancing
I have a phone that I use for work purposes. I also have a myspace website (www.goldcoastgirl.info ) as well as a general one ( www.goldcoastgirl.com ) for me to direct people towards if they want to stay in touch with me.
With the work phone, I have a strict rule that I do not ANSWER any calls from clients. I strictly stick to sms (text messages) with them. If they want more than text messages, then come visit me at a club!
Thanks to the above rule, I havn't had any troubles.
I also generally let calls that I don't recognise the number go straight to voicemail. If it is important, leave me a voicemail message or else text me.
Oh yes it is a pre-paid Optus phone too (nothing flash).
As for myspace, just learn how to filter them. Delete + move on. If they become a problem, block them.
I have my postal and email address listed on www.goldcoastgirl.com if they want to contact me via any of those methods.
Re: The Business of Dancing
I have bizz cards w my name/website on them. Some clubs will let you give them to custies, some won't. I'm not an extras girl, but I do see custies otc for private entertainment, and advertise online as an escort as well. When I travel to other cities I usually put my dancing schedule and club name on my site so guys can come in, see that I'm real, meet me in person and then meet up later otc.
I'm not into it like big business, but I have maybe 2-3 meetings a week, and usually it's like a dinner thing spending a few hours with a guy. So it pays well and allows me to stay home with my daughter all day and do my fashion stuff.

I find them amusing. I really don't care about ti on my work page. I wonder how it is that the weirdos found my work page but not my personal one.
Re: The Business of Dancing
Just curious, how many of you make money off guys that find you on myspace? Or guys you give your myspace to in the club, how likely are they to look up your page, find out your schedule, and return with money?
Re: The Business of Dancing
^^^ I was just about to ask that same thing. Does myspace make a difference to your income or is it just really for personal entertainment, exposure and networking?
Re: The Business of Dancing
Yes.
I've had people when I'm in Melbourne look me up + spend $$ on me where-ever I am (or if I am in their favoured Melbourne club).
Locally? Recently I had a couple come into the club to spend money on me.
So it isn't a huge money spinner yet it has a good ROI considering it is FREE. :)
Granted, I'm not trying to restrict myself to people visiting me in the club... I'm trying to eventually get enough followers so I can sell prints, posters, etc etc. Profit off those who can not visit me for whatever reasons.
