Going back to dancing after baby
Okay girls so after being out for pregnancy and then recovery and get to know baby time..How long did it take for you to go back to work, and any advice on how to manage mommyhood and dancing. I want to continue dancing and school while my daughter is young so she wont ever remember mommy being broke
Re: Going back to dancing after baby
No children for me, but I have known girls that went back to dancing anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months after giving birth, and they did well. It's not unusual to see girls pumping in the dressing room and putting the bottles in a cooler!
Re: Going back to dancing after baby
I went back after about 5 months after. But I was breastfeeding exclusively and I did not want to pump at work, so it was a matter of being able to go away for 6 hours at a time and not nurse. She was also slow to except a bottle. I was ready mentally long before though.
I REALLY appreciate dancing now though, because I worked 2 days a week to start - made great money and spent almost all my time with my baby. It's like a blessing for a new mom you know?

Hey I started this a while back and I plan on my first night back being this coming weekend, now my Question is Im breatfeeding what do i do about leaky boobs
Re: Going back to dancing after baby
yay that's exciting! And awesome to hear you're breastfeeding! I initially worked only 5 hour shifts. I had it okay'd by my club and it was a great way to transition. So, I never leaked or had any problems. My boobs just were huge by the time I was leaving and I nursed my baby right when I got her (and of course timed it so I nursed her right before I left too).
I have seen girls pumping at work though. So, if you have a good portable pump, that is always an option. Then you can also get a good bottle of milk for your baby, for while you are away from her.

thank you for the reply im so excited

I'd recommend pumpimng often and slipping nursing pads under your costumes. Just make sure you take them out in the DR before you take your top off!
