I use H & R Block, 1 street north of Eglington on Yonge. There is a black guy there, he does a lot of dancer's returns and he is really nice. He will help with all the deductions and help you make sure you don't have any mistakes.
You mentioned you usually do your own, but I needed help because of tuition credits and tax-free income which I didn't know how to declare.
I identify myself as an entertainer.
Sorry though I guess that doesn't answer your question. Maybe Cally or Jenny know.
H&R Block sucks for dancers. You might as well do it yourself if you use them.
Go to a personal accountant one that specializes in independent contractors. Im using a guy in Winnipeg now but I know there are a lot of good ones in Toronto area. Remember every little thing from hair and nails to tanning and gym memberships and costumes is all a write off so you want to go to someone that will help you write it all off and help you with 'loop holes'. It will cost you a bit more then H&R Block but it will get you A LOT more money back. Just make sure you have every receipt with you.
No not in my case. I have not idea how to do them and I don't want to learn.
But I guess for Cally, whose entire livelyhood is from dancing, and who has a LOT more deduction than me because of all her traveling costumes props and (by the sound of it) many dancing licences, a PA might be the best choice.
But if you just have a simple question to ask about a form, you can pop into the H & R office and ask your question with no charge.
