who gained weight straight after BA
Ok this is a spin off to the other BA thread about the impact that loosing weight has on implants.
But due to the fact that you have to limit exercise for 4-6 weeks after getting implants I am wondering how many of you with BA's gained weight afterwards (aside from the weight of the implants) and if so how much?
I am getting unders so I wont be able to exercise for 4 weeks, except walking and I am concerned about gaining weight.

what is an appropriate amount? do surgeons tell you to do this?

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained weight and wasn't really able to go back to my pre-ba weight until now. Right when I went back to work it was probably 6lbs or so. It was my fault because
I ate like crap for a month and didn't even do any walking.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained. Mostly because I had a desk job after my BA..so no working out for a month..then sitting on my fat ass for 8 months at work after until I got fed p and went back to dancing.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained a couple pounds, but lost it fairly quickly.
Some of it was water retention from the surgery, some was from the reduced activity level, but it didn't take long to resolve.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
i've had 2 BA's. After the first one i still lived with my mom, who fed me fast food and mac and cheese every day while i recovered. i got big, obviously. After my second BA, i made sure to take good care of myself. i ate healthy and made sure to not consume as many calories as i do when i am active. This is pretty bad, but i also took diet pills so that hopefully my metabolism wouldn't drop since i wasn't able to be very active. After 3 weeks i started excercising again and the problem was fixed. So it's definately not permanent or anything.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I actually lost weight. I felt so sick afterwards from the pain and the meds and stuff that I just didnt really eat anything. My SO forced me to eat some soup/broth everyday. That lasted about 2 weeks...then I walked and was able to eat a bit more but not much at all. ugh...I dont even like remembering that time.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained 5 to 8 pounds. Even though I was working out ( with restrictions ), as much as I could.
I think gaining a little is normal. I lost my weight real quick once I was fully recovered, about eight weeks later.
Seems to me now, though all the girls coming back after BA's had a lot less down time than I did. One girls came back after barely 3 weeks! She looked great too!

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
Just days after my BA, I was up by 14 pounds!! That was depressing as hell, considering I had worked so hard to be in good shape for my new boobs. That was water weight and bloating from surgery. The drips they hook you up to will bloat you like crazy. But then during the 3 weeks where I wasn't allowed to raise my heart rate, I gained 10 real pounds and I still haven't been able to take it all off.

Same here..What was really weird were my food cravings after the procedure.
I'm a veggie and for whatever reason, I craved McDonald's cheeseburgers w/ extra ketchup and pickles. I had a cheeseburger meal everyday for a week !
I just chopped it up to my body needing something, so I gave it what it wanted.
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight if I were you. I'd just eat as healthy as possible and excercise as much as I could before.
You don't want to start excercising too quickly..I was so obsessed with my weight that I got on the scale the morning after my BA, when saw I'd gained a few lbs ( water weight) and decided I better run around my apt. complex ! Damn, that was stupid and painful. I didn't have SW back then..I'm lucky nothing happened.
Just relax you'll be fine..Oh and congrats. I hope I can get my new pair before Summer of next year.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained about ten pounds. It took awhile to get the weight off. I'm not sure why boob jobs trigger weight gain, but everyone I know who has had one has gained weight.

I've wondered that myself.

This really scares me. It's the only doubt I have about the procedure is the thought of gaining weight.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I lost weight straight after I had them done. I didn't want to eat because of the pain meds. But I gained it back.:( Poo.
I find that now it's harder to keep weight off. My old housemom warned me saying that, my body would want to balance out my big titties with the rest of my body so I'd have to watch what I ate more and work out more. It was true.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I gained about 5lbs, but my PS said that about 2 or 3 was implants and the rest was from the swelling. Not sure because it came back off as soon as I started dancing again.
Don't worry too much. If you eat right and stay moderately active, you aren't going to put on much, and losing it will be no prob.

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
I lost during the first few days because of not eating, then when I starting eating I gained a bit. I was bloated for a little while too.

This is how I eat all the time and I have found that during times I am not burning a lot of calories (specifically after my surgeries) I eat significantly less, not intentionally but because my body demands less. If you listen to your body it will tell you exactly what you need. However, this is a lifestyle, not a diet, so it's something you have to start doing before you go in to surgery if you are not already.
I know "everyone" gains weight after a BA, but there is no physiological reason for it. You're putting inorganic matter into your body - there is no physical need to have this "balanced out," only psychological. You will look thinner immediately after the surgery, so if you start to put on weight you may perceive yourself as going back to your normal level and because of that it can take you a little while to recognize that you have actually gained weight. As long as you are aware of what's going on there's nothing to worry about. I was the thinnest I had been in my adult life when I went in for my first BA, and a year and a half and a second BA later I weigh exactly the same plus the weight of my implants. It CAN be done! FWIW, off the top of my head I can think of two girls I know who lost 30+ pounds after a BA, so the idea that it's a fat trap is ridiculous.
Sorry about the soapbox. I just don't want you to get scared off because something as silly as this. :-\
YEY thanks for that. Weight gain is one of my worst fears.

Is this common? I went yesterday to get my stitches out and Dr. said I can do some cardio starting in another few days - that would put me at about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. . .

Re: who gained weight straight after BA
^^^
my surgeon said i can do walking about 2 weeks afterwards. but not weights.
-
Re: who gained weight straight after BA
My surgeon said not to do anything to lift the heart rate for 3 weeks. I followed directions and vegged the whole time...eeek! No wonder I gained.
