Colorado is a LOT of fun, but it's easy to get caught up with wrong crowds. Majority of us in Colorado are transplants, which makes the natives really upitty about their "native" status. That never ceases to make me laugh for hours, because the real "natives" are fighting for more reservation money, thank you very much.
Anyway, I digress, I think Colorado is a great place to establish oneself academically and socially, but I wouldn't recommend it be a place you choose to settle down. Most of us who spent a better chunk of our 20s there land up moving to NYC or anywhere along the west coast. In fact, I like to think of Colorado as a stepping stone to the west coast!
If you have any questions, let me know! I hope you enjoy CO! I'll be there in December visiting, so if we make good e-friends maybe we can hang out or something!
Take care,
