Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Okay...I was inspired by The Ultimate Club thread and all of the moving/vacation/hot spot threads in The Lounge.
If you had a choice...which city would you want to dance in and why? Now there's always the pros and cons of working in each city, of course...so I thought it would be interesting for everybody to share their "dream dance city" so to speak. LOL! Now I know there are girls out there who have no desire to work in Vegas.
Where would you want to live? I also know it's a well-known fact that most of the cities that are good to work in aren't that great to live in and vice versa...

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Definitely New York..The money was really good the last time I worked there and the shopping is unbelievable. Then Houston, the money is good, the cost of living is low and the people are very warm and friendly.

I'm living proof of that statement. The major metro areas that are cosmopolitan, racially diverse, somewhat progressive, and have a lot to do, for the most part provide an inconsistent dancing environment. Girls are a dime a dozen in those places, and that makes club owners and customers more arrogant. :-\

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I love living in St Louis. Dancing here not so much, but it can be ok. Australia sounds like a cool place to live and dance.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I sleep in Jersey but I live in New York.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?

Calgary is my other city. Awesome work, great money and its an amazing all around city.

my health teacher told all us kids in 7th grade that pennsylvania has like the highest percentage of people who grow up there, stay there. Cuz it's awesome;D
I forgot to add why I'd work in Philly, there are lots of clubs to choose from. Like 3 good ones, and it's close enough that if you wanted to travel to work it's only like 40 minutes to ac, 1.5hrs to baltimore, 2 hrs to nyc. It's very easy to get places.
-
Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
And then there are the people that manage to escape Philly and say "It's a great place to be FROM"
Just kidding, I LOVE going back to visit, but I'd never live there again...too cold for me.
Phx was great until the housing bust...not so great now.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Bozeman MT. Great strip club + awesome liberal little community with good Co-op.
-
Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Either Tucson Az.Clubs are Great Ten's is my favorite, very liberal laid back town with lots of nice friendly People or London England very liberal place to live and always friendly and I hear the clubs are great too. Also shopping is wonderful there.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I live in NYC and would love to dancer here full time but my S.O's friends don't know what I do and NYC is a pretty small town when it comes to clubs/stripclubst that everyone goest to. I cant risk them seeing me >:( so when I want to dance I have to go to Jersey.. What sucks is alot of my girls from NJ are working in NYC full time now and they always call me to tell me how much money they are making :-\ ..

heh heh. Great minds.
I love Portland to bits. It's a fabulous city, and even though it isn't stripper mecca you can make a good living here. Also, stripping here is frequently really, really fun. It's one of the few places where you can make a lot of money on stage and where wackiness goes over well. There's a type of club for every type of dancer, too. I'm compelled to travel for the consistently big money sometimes, and purely for stripping I can think of other places, but not purely for quality of life.
If I had to move tomorrow it would probably be Philly. Good market, lots to do, high ratio of cool strippers, close to everything else on the East Coast, friends and family near the area. Austin and Atlanta are great cities with lots to do and good stripping, but I am just over the heat.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I can't make enough commitment to pick just one place I'd like to live/dance in...
Although Vegas totally seems like my calling. At least for now LOL
What's bad is I just drove all this way to Atlanta, I have surgery on Wed in Orlando (yay!) and have made a bunch of plans around being in Atlanta until November. But the whole time I was driving to ATL I kept feeling like I was going in the wrong direction. And all I want to do is turn right around and take my ass back to Vegas. I know this is largely a symptom of all the fun I just had there, and the fact ATL is so fucking lame in comparison (and I can't stand the racist bullshit here ugh). But still. I don't think I'm gonna be happy until I get my ass back to LV!! bah!
I liked the hell out of Bozeman, MT but there is no way in hell I could live there in winter, and I'd go stir crazy in such a small town after a while. I do miss that co-op though. LOL

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Well, I think everywhere would seem lame in comparison to Vegas because it's fucking Vegas! But I found ATL far from lame 'cause they have quite the music scene and a lot of artsy weirdos there. Also you have a really high tolerance for heat, which is also why Vegas seems like a good fit for you.
As far as going stir crazy in Bozeman, well, duh! There is no city in this great green world that will keep you there permanently.
You can heal up and then head straight back to Vegas in a month or so -- perhaps stopping in Austin for a little barbecue on your way?
BTW I was showing Mr W some stripperfest photos and he said, "So wait--let me get this right--she's going bigger?" I don't think he could compute the thought!

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I've never danced in Miami, but I've heard good things about it.
I have been to the city though and I love it. The weather, the shopping, the sexy women walking around, the huge Caribbean population....I would like to live there even if it was temporary.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I have always thought it's fucking LAME to have to go home at a certain time because someone(s) decided we must have rules on closing time and such. I'm really not a huge partyer, but when I do I HATE being told when to stop. I hate such rules in general, for anything. I wanna stop when *I* wanna stop, and I wanna go when *I* wanna go. No matter what it is, partying or whatever. There are few places where one can do almost anything anytime, and ATL is most definitely not one of them. Everything (including restaurants and other businesses) closes entirely too damned early. I HATE that and always have. THIS is why I think ATL is lame, along with most other cities. I can put up with it to a point when other things are good, but I think I really don't like it here. I had fun before but I was mostly working, and this time I'm gonna have to be off for 4 weeks with nothing to do. OMFG I don't think I can stand it!!!
Aaaannd I know as well as I know my name I'll fucking rock it at work no matter where I am after the surgery, because 1) I'll have the biggest tits in the building and 2) I'll have the boosted attitude to match ;D So I figure I'll do just as well in either Vegas or ATL, so why the fuck should I stay here?
I freely admit there's probably no place that can hold me forever. But I'd go stir crazy faster in a small town like Bozeman.
I'm seriously considering scrapping all the ATL-related stuff and just going to Vegas right after surgery, in like 2 weeks. We went out last night and the fucking racist comments almost drove me batty - we went to a restaurant where (god forbid) there were black people, and comments such as "why do they have to take over everything?" were flying. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut, and the only reason I did was because it was my friend's birthday dinner. Otherwise I probably would've said something nasty and walked out.
You know the feeling when you're going somewhere or doing something and it just feels wrong? That's how I felt the WHOLE drive over here from LV. It never turns out well when I go against those feelings...
As for my tits, well, people were flabbergasted I was going bigger the first time. Now I hear constantly how "perfect" they are now, just like I did before the first BA. WTFever :P

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Yeah, you know how dancers complain about customers who just won't shut up? You're never going to have that problem again, 'cause they won't be able to speak in the first place!

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
I have to say, I think everyone should move away from home at least once. Even if you end up back home. I find it incredibly boring to stay in the same place forever. Going outside of your comfort zone is a good thing. Whatever makes you happy, but I think you're only cheating yourself if you don't experience anywhere different.
I know eventually I want end up in Cali, but we aren't moving there till we've hit our desired level of success. I want to enjoy it, not be miserable.
Other cities I would consider moving to - Chicago, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Vegas, Portland, ATL, NYC. If I was dancing probably Chicago or Vegas, but I would not dance full time if it were Vegas.
Planning to spen next year in Mexico, based in Cancun and going back to Toronto when we need to. I'm excited because I've always wanted to just live somewhere with gorgeous beaches. But I could not live there permanently.
After Mexico, I'm pretty sure I want to live somewhere on the west coast. Its just more fun. If we can't go to Cali right away, I want to be somewhere close by.

Re: Which City Would You Want to Live/Dance in and Why?
Back in the day ( pre 9/11 ) I would say the SF bay area. The money was phenomenal and I absolutely love the culture, shopping, food, beaches and the no contact clubs ( South Bay area ) with awesome earing potential. Unfortunately, the area sucks now but I sure do miss it.
For the most part I've always had to travel to work. I've rarely lived in the same city I worked in. The money is better in smaller towns, but I would go stir crazy if I lived there too long, too.
Right now though, I do love living in SLC and working in Vegas! Both areas balance me...

I'd love to try out lving in Massachusetts and then traveling up to dance in NYC. :3
