What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
Ok, we've all been approached by girls we have no interest in. Usually when this happens to me I can adjust my attitude accordingly and give off a pretty effective "leave me alone vibe" without being rude. Most girls get the hint and move on. However, there are some who plop right down next to me and start chatting. No matter how disinterested I act, they just won't go away. I don't want to be blatantly rude, so usually I just bear it until they finally leave, by which time twenty minutes has gone by and I've been watching all the girls I actually would like dances from heading off to the VIP room with other guys. So my question is, what is the best way to get rid of a dancer like that? How do I say, "look, if you were the last stripper on earth I wouldn't spend a dime on you so stop wasting your time," without actually having to be so blunt?

^^
Try:
"I'm just here to have a few quiet drinks"
or
"I'm waiting to get a dance from" and point to a girl
or
if you REALLY want to get rid of her and be a bit subtly rude then ask her if she would mind going and telling that dancer over there that you would like to speak to her. Dancers hate that and it's telling her in no uncertain terms that you DO NOT want a dance from her.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
Jaizaine's got it, especially with the last one. I'm one of those who gets the hint PDQ (hey, it saves my time just as much as yours) so I get mightily pissed when a guy pulls that stunt, but it definitely gets the point across if all else has failed with the super-persistent. Any dancer that sticks around after you just told her to go get another dancer is just too thick to exist. This tactic is quite rude so only use it when courtesy fails, but if you want to soften the rudeness you can always hand her a little tip and say, "I'm sorry, but I'm here to see (that dancer), would you mind telling her I'm here?"
Of course, then you have to get at least one dance from the dancer you purportedly wanted to see!

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
I'd prefer the custy simply tell me that I'm not his type. Then you don't waste my time, I don't waste yours, and you don't look like an idiot for using some stupid typical line. Win-win. :P
Being rude or insulting about it is a great way to end up with your drink in your lap; a simple "thanks, but you're not my type" will do the trick. It's clear and direct without being insulting, IMHO. I can't get offended just b/c some guy really has a thing for blondes, black girls, or whatever else I'm not.
Then again, I'm not one of those "really annoying girls who won't leave you alone." :P If it's clear that I'm not getting $$ from a guy, I'm off to the next one. Why would I want to waste my time?

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
Just in case this is a serious question.
"I'm not interested in dances, but thank you"
"I'm waiting on that girl, there."
We're selling a product, not being your friend. The mode of exchange is pretty simple.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
Oh, I'll never understand customers who "don't wanna be rude" so they waste 20 minutes of our precious time at work. THAT is rude. Sending her away--by any means necessary--is not as rude as that.
-
Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
I was always more partial to a direct, but polite "no thank you". Gave me more time to find a paying customer and gives the guy more time to find a girl he wants to dance for him.
Wasting time (and money) is a lot more rude than "no".

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
The "I'm waiting for someone to come back" line works good for me, but don't go out of your way and point to someone, because at that point you're committed.

Could also be a case of "I've not made any money tonight, so I'm going to cling to anyone who gives even the slightest indication they might buy a dance".
It might not be they don't get the "leave me alone vibe", it might be a case of they're deliberatly ignoring it.
In which case a "Sorry, I've come in to buy some dances from 'X' tonight, although I haven't spotted her yet" might do the trick.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
U ladies make it seems so easy ... I have a hard time being mean ( at least I perceive it as mean even tho it really isnt) but I am getting tougher. In the past I have always gotten a dance to "get rid of her" but now I use the the "Im waiting for ..." line which is really true. So my time here has paid off - Yay!!!

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
Sometimes when the dancer doesn't seem able to grasp my disinterest, I'll politely excuse myself and move to the tipping rail of one of the stages. I'll wait till the beginning of the next set, excuse myself, and spend some time at the stage.

Yes, b/c heaven forbid you actually spend a whole $20 on anyone. ::)

Tell her you dont have any money. If that doesnt work ask her to buy you a drink and tell her you will pay her back next time.

Why should any guy minding his own business at the bar feel obligated to spend money on anyone other than the girl he is there to see? When you go to the store do you buy products you really don't want or need just because they happened to be in the same store as the thing you went there for?

Did you even see the post that she was responding to?

My bad. I only read her comment. Sorry, Picaresque.
If Mister Bill is advocating a way to enjoy the show without spending, he deserves to be chastised. In the case of others ( like myself ) there to see someone specific, I stand by my statement. In my analogy about the store, I guess he would be considered a shoplifter.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
I think the problem for a lot of us is that we are trained not to be rude in public situations like these, even when we have ample justification for being so. Problem is that we often mistake being rude for simply having a spine.
The thing is, annoying salespeople keep using these pushy tactics because on enough people well...they work, and the reason they work is because spineless customers let them get away with it.
You can put your foot down without being an ass about it. Any dancer worth her salt knows its her responsibility to close the sale, and knows when to move on when she isn't going to make one. I just wish more dancers were worth their salt.

But why?
If you and the other dancers in this thread compared notes on what you liked in guys you'd probably come to very different conclusions about what you considered "hot".
You might decide that another dancer's defintion of a "hot" guy didn't match your's - he wasn't your type. The other dancer would still think the guy was hot - but you wouldn't.
Simliarly, with guys coming into a strip club - one guy's "hot" dancer is not necessarily another's.
OK, maybe we could put it more tactfully: "Sorry but I've always had a preference for blonde dancers", but it's not your fault if you don't match our stereotype of what our ideal woman is like.
And if we personally don't think you're hot, then very probably the next guy into the venue will.
It's the good old law of averages at work.
Phil.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
There are several variations that work 90% of the time. The following are from my personal collection:
- First and foremost - "No thanks" said with a big smile and plenty of eye contact usually works best. In Az, clubs are high volume hustle, so this usually sends them to the next PL faster than you can blink.
- I just got here, and want to just chill for awhile before getting any dances. (works well if it's true, but not if you've been there so long you need a shave...)
- I'm waiting for Nicki. Most will accept this (especially if they know Nicki...), but they also know I might be waiting quite awhile, so this response has a definite shelf life.
I have been expanding my LD circle recently, so lately I've been accepting more dance offers than I used to, and the variety has been enjoyable. The result is that I don't turn dancers down as much unless I'm just completely not interested. Only on a couple of occassions over many years have I had to tell a dancer that won't leave that "You seem very nice, but you're just not my type". This would be a last resort.
The worst situation was a very skinny and obviously emotionally damaged dancer that asked my why I wasn't her type, did I think she was ugly, was it because she didn't have big boobs, do I know what it's like to be rejected over and over and over. I told her she was in the wrong line of work and bolted for the door. Haven't seen her since.

Re: What's the best way to get rid of that annoying girl who won't leave me alone?
I am not sure if the OP was serious, or not, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. To all the dancers here stating that the guy should just say "No, thank you," you are correct. He should.
I am thinking the OP was referring to a specific type of dancer, and I have met a few of them. They will not go away even when you have said "no" several times. Most of you ladies here are quite savvy and understand it is a waste of your time to sit with a guy that has stated he is not interested. The type of dancer I am referring to is a vast minority (but they do exist).
If she will not go away then most effective technique I have found without being rude is to excuse myself for a rest room break. Once said break is done, then I seek out a dancer that interests me.

I sooo hear you. That is the #1 thing that has been annoying me lately. I really wish guys would grow some balls and just tell me I'm not their type. But that never happens. I wouldn't take offense to it, I'd actually respect them. I am secure enough to know that just because I am not someone's type doesn't mean I am not pretty. I know I am pretty!
For example last night, I walked up to a guy, tried to sell a dance, he said "No, I am TOTALLY out of cash, I'm really sorry" and guess what, there was a stack of 20's sitting on the table in plain view. So then I walk away and 5 min later he took another girl to the VIP. Which is fine...but why couldn't he just say, No thank you, I'm waiting for so-and-so to go to the VIP. I would have been cool with that, but instead he boldfaced lied to me. That is what does offend me, when they tell me something that is so obviously not true, like they take me for a complete idiot.
I love the ones that say, oh I am leaving right this second, I really have to go...then get up and act like they are leaving but go to the mens room, then come back and start getting dances from other girls.
I guess in a perfect world guys would be honest and say I'm not their type but it's never gonna happen...that's the business...I just gotta get over it and move on.
But I had to vent a little....
