whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
ok, so i've been at my current club for a couple months now, and i was very comfortable with the way i worked, i work clean, i'm friendly, honest, and one of the nicest girls there and i've gotten a lot of compliments on the way i work from customers. I always walk out with at LEAST $100 even when a lot of the other girls don't make much that night. I'd say i average about $120-$200 on an average night, which might not seem like much, but it is all i need and i am very happy to make it. So it just really perturbed me that my manager pulled me aside twice last week and told me i wasn't being "sexual" enough...my dances weren't sensual enough, she suggested much more "secondary touching", grabbing, and pushy sexual sales tactics..one fellow dancer even suggested i deep-throat a bottle, and talk to the customer about his dick in raunchy phone-sex ways..! i'm not exactly a prude, but i really don't feel comfortable telling the customer about his dick and touching him up... i'm doing fine the way i am, but now i feel "watched", like i'm not good enough and i'll get in trouble if i don't molest every guy that walks in. wtf??!!! this is supposed to be a CLEAN club!! it's got me looking to switch clubs, i was so happy there. that really burns my biscuits!! :grumpy:
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
I don't think it's appropriate or standard for them to demand you do things like that. I never do dirty talk- most girls I know don't. And those that do, demand extra money for it. I'd go ahead and explore some other clubs. So many girls stay way too long in abad situation when they're new because they don't realize what options they have.
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
sounds like a bad situation. Yes, check out other clubs.
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
Just ignore them and keep doing whatever you are comfortable with.
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
^ i agree. it's a dancer's perogative on how much contact she wants to give. except for extras... but did i really have to say that?
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
IMHO, I would say trust your instincts. If what the manager said is making you really uncomfortable, like you feel you HAVE to do this from how they critique you, then, as another girl said, try looking at other clubs. Don't mention to anyone that that's what you're doing, but be on the lookout nonetheless. And I agree, what she did sounds REALLY odd.
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
a manager telling you to be more sexual? that's not good. i could understand one of the other dancers trying to help you out by saying you needed to be more sensual but not the manager! especially a FEMALE manager! i'd say do what you're comfortable with also but if you don't feel like you can dance in that environment then change. i'd rather you have fun and be yourself than trying to live up to someone else's standards. everyone has a different style--besides it wouldn't be fun to see a carbon copy of everyone.
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
Wow! I'm really surprised to hear that. Usually it's the other way around! Do what YOU are comfortable with at all times. Don't ever let anyone pressure you to do something you are not comfortable with in this business. Keep working how you want to work and I'd try to find a better club if at all possible.
Not to mention, deep throating a bottle is one of the TACKIEST things you could do!!! Ew!
Re: whattya MEAN not dirty enough?!
Bleh. I've had managers tell me shit like this(but there were no doubts that it ws NOT a clean club). That if I wasnt such a "prude" (read....I wouldnt suck dick!) I'd make more money. That I need to "work it more" so I sell more champagne rooms. Uh huh. No thanks.
This was also the same manager that suggested I take up coke to lose weight.
Do what you want if you are making money and ignore him. Leave if it gets too bad.
