Comics/graphic novels that have made you cry
In Funky Winkerbean, Les's wife Lisa is in hospice care from terminal breast cancer. Each comic creeps closer to her death, and each one brings me to tears. Each loving gesture, each person's closure, each step closer brings a new wave of tears.
The first comic that made me cry was Judd Winick's Pedro and Me. This book was about the guy with AIDS on The Real World # San Francisco. The parts about his death and Judd's further impact on others cause big fat tears to run down my face. The other comic that made me cry was Maus, when Art's parents were reunited.
It's amazing that ink and paper can move me to tears like this. Graphic novels and comics truly are art forms.

Strangers in Paradise... I was the anti-comic intellectual, and I was living in this wierd love triangle (nobody was getting laid!) and some guy was like, "omg, this comic is, like, about you!" And it practically was. And it had all these sad parts that I of course related to way too much.
Fun House. Susan gave it to me. Now I wanna read more of them.

Are you guys serious? A comic made you cry?
It could possibly make me cry, but of course, I have issues.

Ohhhhh man, you guys had me at Hello.
The first comic that ever really enticed Ttears from me, was the Death of Captain Marvel. Guy died of Cancer. Strong move for his time. But, to help Cap cope with it and make the transition, Thanos visited him and took him to Lady Death via a Battle, in which Marvel realized what Thanos was doing out of Respect.
<Thanos> Do not fear her, for she is merely that which awaits us all
<CM> I don't fear her, I just no longer need, the illusion.
----
I will never forget the imagery in the page-sized panel where Magneto ripped the adamantium from wolverines body, but even more so when he was visited by a redhead thought to be Jean Grey bringing him back to life, turning out to be Rose from the Origins series.
----
When Colossus cured the Legacy Virus.
<Beast> Leave it to Stryfe to find a cure more deadly than the disease.
----
Earth X where you FINALLY get to see a little of Galactus taking up arms against the Celestials.
----
Kinda cheesy, but I liked when Ulic Qel-Droma was cloaked in the force by Nomi Sunrider (a previous lover) cutting him off from it. (Those who played Knights of the Old Republic, this story line takes place JUST before/during the game).
----
The first 6 issues of Captain America after Sept. 11th. Strong writing there.
"It's never the wars that bleed and die away, it's the Men, Women, and Children."
Re: Comics/graphic novels that have made you cry
The episodes of Robotech where Ben and Roy died made me cry.
I kinda teared up when Magick died, in the X-men series.
But Initial D First Stage Episode 4 makes me cry every time I see it. Tears of joy though.

Weighing in as another Sandman fanatic! God, I can hardly believe it's been well over a decade, and you'll still find me hanging out with the Dream King from time to time.
