oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
How old is she? Does she look her age? Does she still get a lot of work? I'm needing some reassurance that starting stripping after 25 isn't being over the hill (especially because I'm starting and don't have experience yet!) But also, just curious how it is out there!

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
52. and she makes plenty of money by what i see.
but she is black, and I tend to think that black women are better able to hide their age.

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
ah, this thread is making me feel better already cuz I'd read off of another stripper web page that the average age of retirement was 27 and I though, shoot, that gives me like a few months until I'm considered old in the profession...but so far it doesn't seem that way!

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
no. there are a lot of women on this site who are dancing well into thier 30's and beyond, and constantly outearining much younger strippers.

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
I started at 26. A dancer at my club is 42 and she is amazing. She seems to make good money (I dont ask of course) and she has an absolutely amazing, toned body.

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
I have known several women who danced well into their thirties and early forties...they were top earners in their respective clubs!! They looked great, had great attitudes, and men young and old alike loved them. While many women give it up before they reach their thirties, there is no reason why you have to give it up. If your mind and body will allow you to continue, go for it!!

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
known quite a few in their forties and fifties....white, black, asian, latina.....sometimes they looked it, sometimes they didnt. they still all make money. age ain't nothin but a number.

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
I'm 46.
I still do well.
Sometimes I feel my age, not being able to do pole work anymore and such.
Then again most guys leave my LD's wobbly and weak kneed. Though they would never say that being the big macho men that they are. :P

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
^^^ total agreement with Crow that, with the single exception of physical stamina, age doesn't have to have any sort of automatic negative effect on dancers.
Actually, if you study the demographics, the vast majority of dollars walking in the front door of upscale clubs is in the pockets of guys who are in their 40's, 50's or even older. Often these guys are not looking for dancers who resemble their daughter / granddaughter !!! Often these guys are far more comfortable with dancers reasonably close to their own age group, who share some measure of history, who have some knowledge of the economics / politics / business issues that affect these guy's lives on a daily basis, and who are not likely to have an 'eeeewwww' reaction to guys with gray hair and bald spots LOL.
of course, maintaining a 'buff' bod via workouts and dieting, a little help here and there from the plastic surgeon etc. certainly helps a lot ...

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
*Bows down to Crow* wow... that's amazing. And not just the fact that you still WoRk, but that you look FAN-Fucking-TASTIC and do really well. Very, very inspiring.
I believe the oldest I knew was 42... Absolute sweetheart, funny & well-liked... still fairly new @ my club but she knew people (management) from way back in the day. Looks? She's let herself go a bit... oh well. I've also danced w/ a 39 yr old who SERIOUSly looked 25... and a 36 yr old is probably our top earner, consistently. Gorgeous, funny, no-bs attitude, guys love it.

100% in agreement with Melonie. My biggest spending customers have always chosen me BECAUSE I was older.

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
I knew of a Mother-Daughter pair that worked in Houston.
Mom was about 54, and the daughter was about 25.
What's interesting is that the Daughter was hot and made $$ on her looks, and the Mom was just OK ( but hey she was 54), but she did really well through her people skills, sense of humour, etc. She had lots of regulars.
The Mom was not a top earner in the club, but she did real well. She used to say, "I can be a manager at a Walmart, or work here, and I choose this".

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
47 year old black lady that goes by "Sugar". She does NOT look her age at ALL. More energy that her younger counterparts. I give her most of my money when I see her :P

But this forces me to bring up one of the 'negative' changes in the strip club business model that pertains to 'mature' dancers moreso than younger dancers. IMHO the financial success of 'mature' dancers is dependent, at least in part, on a strip club business model that attracts upscale customers - and which provides an environment for social interaction between those upscale customers and 'mature' dancers. Unfortunately, these upscale strip clubs are becoming more scarce.
When a 'meat market' strip club business model takes its place, i.e. customers come to the club seeking high levels of physical contact and 'extras' with little thought of social interaction with the dancers before or after a 'grind session', then younger dancers and dancers with outstanding physical attributes usually have an advantage ... well, as long as they are down with the 'grind session' customer expectations anyhow. Unfortunately, with a 'meat market' strip club business models, it is usually the case that older dancers still earning major bucks are doing so by providing more physical contact and 'extras' than the younger dancers. This change in the strip club business model is the major reason that I decided to retire from live club work.

So true plus it is getting harder and harder to find thoes sorts of clubs. The ones that cater to the more discering type of strip club patron.
Anyone can find a little slap and tickle, so to speak.
Miss Latina, my birth year is 1961. So neener.:P

Re: oldest stripper you know...who' still got her groove...
I knew a really sexy Russian dancer who was in her early 50's. Slammin' bod. She put us younger chicks to shame.

You know what's worse yet? These young girls that are just plain dumb and will do anything for a dollar - It just makes me grrrrrr.
If they had any sort of a clue they would BANK and make that man pay for his show. Instead they just give it all away for chump change.
Plus what really cheeses me off is the "more mature dancer" that will cut her price and cut her price because she thinks she's so desperate to make some cash. Bah!
I guess I'm just hard-headed, stubborn and way to proud to cheapen myself in this manner.
Poopey!
