hot girls not makeing money?
i'm thinking about leaving my current club due to an odd trend ive noticed. the less attractive girls do better then the hot girls. now i know often this happens with hot snobby chicks but this is different.
its the day shift first off so no one can afford to be snobby, and there are NO extras going on (very close eye from management). my self and another dancer im friendly with had both noticed that the newer shyer, less...polished shall we say, looking girls get turned down much less then we do. im chalking it up to the day guys mostly being shy anti social and weird (the night guys are high power business types) how can i work with this?
i usually go up to a guy chat for a few songs. i smile, ask them how they are, make them laugh a little, and then how about a dance on your lunch break, i think you should get a dance from me (while smiling), would you like a private dance.
they turn me down then i see them go dance with another girl! they look at me suspiciously, i think they are less trusting off me because im not as timid. what should i do!

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
less attractive girls = more attainable
more attainable = more attractive
also, some guys tend to associate attractiveness with bitchyness or lack of a fun personality. i've had guys tell me before that they feel like they have more of a good time with girls who aren't hot, because girls who are "too hot" tend to "think you owe them something"
even though most of the time it's judgemental and "all in his head"...
it's what they "think" that matters.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
Plus a lot of guys seem to think that less attractive girls will be willing to work "harder" for their money. Whether its true or not....they know the hot girls dont have to do extras.
-
Re: hot girls not makeing money?
We had two girls for a while who looked, dressed and danced way under the radar and exhibited no personality whatsoever, but they constantly got dances because they would basically beg the customers for them. I didn't know until customers complained about it to me, and said that they kept saying "please...please...please..." ::)

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
I think some blue collar guys are more intimidated by very hot women. They feel like they can't afford them, the hot woman would demand too much and she might look down on them. Someone more average and "in thier league" (even though the average-cute girl is still probably out of thier league too) is what they are comfortable with.

Bingo. The first time I tried being a house girl I was constantly turned down for girls that were way less attractive and usually a lot fatter. The customers will, unfailingly, choose the girl who has to work that much "harder" to be competitive with the hot chicks. Sad but true. It's almost like you have to take it as a compliment even though it's tough to swallow. You're just so gorgeous that the average guy is intimidated by you!

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
Maybe the "less attractive" girls have better sales skills and can close a deal better than the ones who rely on their looks alone.
Kat, the closing lines you are using "how bout a dance?" "you should get a dance from me" ARE NOT very solid closers.
You need to be more confident and express that through more powerful statements like "You're ready for a dance now aren't you?" "You need one of my special dances before you go back to work, huh?"

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
Bullshit on the "maybe you're too pretty"
Guys don't fantasize about plain looking women.
-
Re: hot girls not makeing money?
i think it could be a mix of lots of different things. i don't know how you hustle, but is your personality pleasant?? i know you said ya'll aren't snobby, but that's not what i mean.

I disagree with the above comment. Maybe she IS too pretty for that particular club. Maybe she should audition at a club where the girls tend to be closer to 10s.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
If you think it has to do with your looks, why don't you try dressing them down a little bit. Test that out by wearing a little less makeup and if you usually wear thigh highs, try not wearing them. If you usually wear alot of sparkly jewelery then tone it down etc.... Just see if it's your looks that are hurting you or your hustle.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
i don't think is my closing lines because when i worked at a different club i did very well. i smile and nod when i ask them if they would like a dance. i never say wanna dance. i always chat and am very upbeat when im with a guest. i never act too good for a customer in fact im one of the only girls who will dance for a fetish customer we have. i have trouble imagining that girls who have never danced before have better sales skills.
im starting to wonder if the day shift pace is just wrong for me. i wont sit with some one who's not spending for a half hour. i probably seem stuck up compared to the girls who just sit and sit with no money changing hands.
ugh, i think i just need a different club.

The clue may be in the above sentence.
Guys like the illusion that you're dancing because you get a kick out of it, not because you're motivated by money. Guys don't like the idea (no matter how true) that you're only talking to them/dancing for them because of the money.
"Newer, shyer, less polished" girls may come across as "doing it for fun", whereas the more professional dancers may be putting out the "I'm motivated by money" vibe.
Maybe you're coming across as too professional and polished for male tastes?
Phil.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
I think you need to switch to nights or another club. I do MUCH better at an upscale club than I do at the smaller ones... and I couldnt imagine having worked day shift at the smaller one...
-
Re: hot girls not makeing money?
yeah i think switching is the thing to do. the club i work at now is upscale, but the day crowd is very similar to the blue collar place i used to work minus the fun of working at a more laid back club. its a weird mix, if i could work the crowd like at a smaller club it would be great but the culture of the club just doesn't support rowdy antics that work for me with the blue collar types. and there just aren't enough big spenders to justify working there, its too hit or miss for me, i get very unmotivated when i see a couple girls in champagne and the rest of the club literally is empty. (yesterday 4 girls on shift, 2 in champagne, which left me and 1 other on stage rotation, 3 song sets for the hour.)

I must agree with this.
You have much more sales potential as a stunning creature, but personality and sales skills are what make you shit money or great money.

This worked for me. I am the black eyeliner/red lipstick/thigh high wearing kind. I decided to tone it down, and bingo! More money. Ever since I stopped wearing thigh highs, in particular, I have been doing better. As far as makeup goes I do a natural lip instead of red, and instead of alot of black eye makeup, just some nude shadow and false eyelashes. I do have a very intimidating look and presence, but toning it down has helped me sooooo much.
Everyone is different though, this is just what has worked for me.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
Also if it is an upscale club during the day, they may like the 'less professional' dancers because they are the polar opposite of what they have to deal with at work, where everything is geared towards business and the bottom line and being a bit 'on the edge', which is what they may be picking up in the 'perfect' girls...it reminds them that you are at work...where they like the less scripted, natural vibe the other ladies give off because they aren't even sure of how to formulate or guide a sales pitch.
I noticed when I stopped actively gearing my dialogue with guys towards dances...and just kind of saddled up to them with a goofy smile and maybe a wink and said..hey.....and not much else for the first few seconds...it put the emphasis on THEM to come up with questions for ME which makes them feel more like they are in a normal bar chatting up a lady...and if you remain a bit coy and mischievous...less invasive questions, "where are u from?" "what do you do?" and just see where "Hey" gets you...they might just spring the question of dances up themselves...this has started to happen for me..and if they start to get completely off track I find a way to flirtatiously end the conversation without closing the sale for a bit....and come back and grab them saying, "let's go". In short, maybe try a less scripted approach...

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
I had this happen to me last night - it ruined my night.
Mister Big Bucks comes in with the guys who work for him - he owns a big construction company and these guys are low level workers. They are known to go back to VIP for long stretches. I come over and sit with one of the low level guys, clearly blue collar. He's fat, stupid, plainly dressed. I figured I could latch onto the group and go to VIP. I made the whole group laugh so hard they were almost crying (my biggest talent is wit). But the time comes to go to VIP, and the ugly guy rejects me in favor of an overweight girl he just grabbed out of nowhere - wtf? I get nasty and in his face (I've had a few drinks) and ask why he wasted my time. He and Mister Big Bucks are nasty, go back to VIP with 3 fatties and one hottie (my hustling buddy) - wtf? I would never give this guy the time of day in real life and he rejects me? Fuck off, insecure dude. I got in his face again and said "It's ok, you're the one who has to pay girls to pay attention to you"
I guess if they go with a really hot girl, they're admitting to themselves they're paying for something they could never really have. Assholes.

different things work at different clubs. if i used my current hustle at my last club, i'd do horribly. but i do pretty well at the club i'm at now. you cant assume that just because things work elsewhere they're going over great at your current club.

I think there's something to this, yeah. So then, if they choose to give money to the less attractive girl, on top of the perception that she's more attainable, in their minds they can also think they're doing her a favor.

Also having good-looking dancers bitch you out after rejecting them for VIP reinforces the belief... ::)
You, VS, probably (at least after the fact) looked like you felt entitled.

Re: hot girls not makeing money?
It's looks and personality. I'm not like this uber-hottie out of a magazine, but I have a nice figure (D cup, small frame, innocent-seeming face, larger-than-average ass) and I'm personable so I can do well and sometimes be the top earner, even though I'm a very low maintenance hippie Scottish chick who doesn't do her nails, doesn't work out, doesn't tan and has only recently got herself a stash of good MAC makeup. I would say it's more about personality and sales techniques than looks. Some of the "hottest" girls raise their nose at everyone -- the cook, the bartenders, the waitresses, the disc jockey, the cook, the customers -- and it's readily apparent. Some people let it go to their egos and create little "mini worlds" in strip clubs to feel powerful or important. What they don't understand is that there are thousands of girls just like them. If you are friendly and can sell dances, you should do well in this business no matter what you look like. Seriously, haven't we all been a bit horrified to see what's really up backstage without the low lighting?
