Aww, it's not posting!! I love that running joke, "In Soviet Russia, car drives you!" :rotfl:
Perhaps you can copy-paste the article?
I Love kvass... it's fizzy and a little malty.
But my all-time fave.... GT's kombucha!!!!
Kvas is old school. Its like uncarbonated O'Douls. Well, not really. Its very yeasty tasting. I'm not a huge fan. I prefer yorsh, lol! Not really....
There are a few Mexican home brews that might be like kvass, like atole and some Sinaloan concoction with lime in it (both made from corn). Be very afraid!
"Coca-Cola, a key symbol of the Westernisation of Russian society after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, knows which way the wind is blowing. It intends to launch its own brand of kvass in Russia next year."
Thanks, Double M!
How do you pronounce "kvass"? Does it rhyme with "ass"? :-\
I'm amazed that Coca-Cola will soon be competing with a native Russian drink when they've got the American soda concession there locked down already. Ironically, according to the article, "Many Russians still brew their own kvass at home, soaking black bread in a mixture of water and yeast and letting it ferment slightly."
It's pronounced Kv-ahhss.
Like "toss" or "loss"
;)
HAHAHAH!!! Nice!
As a kid, I remember paying 5 kopeks for a glass mug of cold kvass. Pepsi and Coke were nowhere to be found...
