    Default New Dancer

    Hey,

I'm a new dancer from BC, but I'm headed out to Alberta to start dancing. I've been 'recruited' by teh Blue Oasis Gentleman's Club... anyone else ever worked there?

Really? I could probably meet you then I get back from my modeling shoots in Vancouver that day.
How'd you end up getting scheduled at Slack Alice's? (I've yet to hear how all this agency stuff works)

And about Blue Oasis... they're looking for girls all the time... good money to be made (it's an oil town). They bring girls in every Sunday... I start dancing on the 16th (after 1 day intro) and the last day I dance will be the 27th.

Heh I book through Stripper you send them your promo and Randy will get you hooked up with everything. If you call them 604 517 4434 and tell them you want to get started dancing, Randy will take you under his wing. Hes like the unoffical Rookie starter upper lol.

Im doing a 7 week run in BC actually starting next week. Im at The Fox in Victoria, JJ's Campbell River, Muggs and Juggs Vancouver, Rendezvous Kamloops then Slack Alices Penticton. Then im back at The Fox for Miss Nude BC.

I don't really work in Alberta unless its Calgary as I hate the whole lap dancing thing there lol. Did you book through Independent for that?

I didn't book through anyone actually... they had an ad up and I answered the ad.

That's why I don't quite get the agent thing... what do they do? What do they get? That sorta thing.

Umm Agents are umml.... well you can't get work without them lol. Like to get paid stage work in Western Canada you need agents. They make sure you don't get screwed over by clubs and get you the most money they can and blah blah blah... I actually prefer working for an agent because I know i'll get great treatment from the clubs for the most part. Okay thats what they want you to think anyway lol.

Agencies just keep the clubs in line and all that shit, you have a problem with your booking you call your agent and he deals with it. To get decent work in western canada you must have an agent.

Stripper, THATs Entertainment and Deluxe run BC
    Independent Artists run Alberta
    Superb Entertainment run Manitoba
Fantasie Sensations runs Ontario and everything east.

FYI...the owner of the Blue Oasis owns 2 clubs and does not hire or book through Independant Artists.

Divine...you are completely on your own if you work through them.

If there is no contact to protect you...PLEASE ensure you get everything in writing.

The owner has contacted me a few times regarding hiring girls (I used to own an agency)....as well as training them.

Thanks. I do have a copy of the contract that I will be signing as soon as I get there. I've discussed details of it with Onika so that I know I understand the requirements etc.

Once I've completed my two weeks with Blue Oasis I am planning on contacting Randy as suggested by Callyish. I'd love to have help with setting stuff up, and help with making sure I'm not getting screwed over is always a bonus

Umm... just make sure that if the club goes against anything in the contract that you are not scared to stand up to them and contact a lawyer. IE they pay you the price they stated in the contract they will pay you.... you get your show count(should be 22 shows as thats the norm in Alberta). Stuff like that..

I'm worried about the lap dancing. I'm worried about not having a pole as a prop and something to support myself on... hell, you can't even use the floor really.

Lap dancing is the easiest part of the job Seriously just kind of lean over the guy, use the back of the chair to hold yourself on and wiggle your hips and look him in the eye and giggle and before you know it the dance is over. Kinda glance at the other girls to get ideas of what to do.

Or hell before you leave for Alberta pop into Slacks and ask one of the girls to give you a dance so you get an idea of what to do.

NP. A VIP/Lap Dance is one song. So 3 1/2 - 4 min. Standard price in Alberta is $30 and the bar takes $11 of that. Some places take a little more, some take a little less but the usual is $11.
