    Default Teeth shaving?

Im not sure if thats what its called...But I was wondering if you had to go to a special dentist to get that done? 2 of my teeth are really pointy in the front, like vampire teeth! People ask me if I got that done on purpose all the time. I hate it. Has anyone got this done & about how much would it cost?

I booked an app. @ my dentist but I havent been in over 4 years, and i know i had cavitys the last time I was there(yikes). He said he can get me for a cleaning and xrays and then I will have to book another app. to get however cavitys i have filled. THEN we can talk about teeth shaving/whitening I want to get done.

Anyway im sure I wont be able to get any of this done until next year, but if you have any info on it let me know please!

I was considering this as well - the whitening and shaving to make them even. I don't even know how much it would cost. Did he even quote you at all?

hey hey.....I got my teeth filed.....my Dentist did it when I was getting my regular exam/cleaning.....it took 5 minutes to get rid of my extra pointy, sharp-ass canines.....no pain....he didn't even charge me anything extra. Bleaching runs you a few hundred generally, but a lot of dentists will throw the filing in for free when you're getting other procedures done......I'd imagine it might cost you if it's extensive (time consuming).....but it's generally really easy....they just pop a fine grinder onto their dental-dremmel-thingy and do it in a couple of minutes.....it's nice to not bite through my lower lip anymore....it used to be a frequent annoyance.

I had this done back in high school when my braces were taken off. Any dentist can do this and it is fast and fairly painless.

It's fairly cheap and totally worth it. I had it done back when I had braces, and it really improves your smile.

^^^ LOL - I like the cute little pointy teeth on some girls like Kirsten Dunst. Adds character.

He wouldent quote me at all-But I dont have insurance and he is one of the only dentists who will take me in the area. I trust him cause he has never ripped me off like others! Is the teeth shaving gonna make my teeth alot smaller? cause they are already pretty small...I have so much dental that needs to be done. thats what I get for putting it off for 4 plus years. I HATE having my teeth touched!

well being a ex-dental assistant, i know that it's a painless, quick procedure, that he could do in less then 5 minutes. im sure he can do it with your cleaning/xray appt. just ask him when u see him before he hands you off to the hygenist for your cleaning. it shouldn't cost that much, some don't charge, some charge for a unit of time (15 mins is a unit) and it's about $30 a unit. there won't be any materials he's using, so it shouldn't be more then that.

your teeth might be a lil sensitive after for a while, so i suggest picking up some sensodyne toothpaste.
