salons charge more than say Hair Cuttery, but you do sometimes get what you pay for. I don't know if 65 is too much or not, I have only ever paid 50 before, but asI was saying some places charge more than others.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..
Depends on the location and the salon.
My hair cuts cost $90...and are well worth every penn. The last time I got a cheap cut, I lost all my damn hair and had to pay thousands for extensions.

I always pay about 65 for my hair cuts. i think its worth it. In fact, if my hair cut cost less than 40 I would wonder about its quality...
Mine's $60, so ya, that sounds about normal.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

hair cuts have risen in cost... i live in a smaller town, and i pay around $45 for a cut, although i usually just get a trim with some razor action.

I pay around $120 for my haircuts. But that's because I'm too terrified to ever spend $20 and have it ruined. At least with that $120, I get free alcohol (no really, the salon gives you a choice in drinks!) and the lady knows she better be doing a good job for that money. Usually they let me keep the magazine, too.

$65 too much for a cut? Depends on the stylist.
The salon industry is oversaturated. I've said it before and I'll say it again, price does not dictate quality. I've seen some really talented stylists at Supercuts and I've seen some shitty ones demand $70+... the only peice of advice I have is to do your homework before visiting a new stylist. Check citysearch.com. If you see someone with great hair, ask them where they go and who they see. Interview your stylist; how long as he or she been doing it? How often do they attend trade shows/education classes? Are they knowledgable and passionate about what they do? Do they ask you a lot of questions?

^ i agree wholeheartedly.
i usually got my hair done by this crazy ass hippie chick who is a serious punk rocker @ regis. i loooooved the way she cut my hair... once she bleached my hair platinum, but black chunks in my bangs. and gave me a faux hawk! i loved it, and thats how much i trusted her. thank god we had workers from california in my area for clientele, that look seemed to rock them senseless!
she stopped working at regis, and i assumed that someone else at regis would do just as well... I WAS WRONG. BUTCHERED MY HAIR. of course i refused to pay... but come on, when i say chin length and you're cutting above my ear, it makes me wonder if you even passed hair classes!
my girl finally found me on myspace and told me where she is now, 45 minutes away
but, will i go see her again when i'm ready for another cut? you bet your ass.

When I chopped my waist-length hair off into as shaggy pixie, I went to a salon for the first time in my life. It only cost $27, but I saw as much as $90 when I was researching.
Seems reasonable to me...
Sounds about right to me. I charge $35 and I do them in my kitchen! LOL
