I called ahead and spoke to the manager who told me to only bring my license and social security card. (I had my shoes in the car just in case she wanted to see them.) When I got there the bartender seemed to be a few bricks short of a full load, but otherwise nice.
There wasn't much of an interview, actually. She asked me if I had danced (I hadn't) and she asked me my age (19). She made a bit of a face and I thought she was going to turn me down, but then finally said, "Well, don't try to sneak drinks. I can get in big trouble." She didn't seem to care about my body or even if I had any dancing ability whatsoever. (She did comment, "You're a tiny little thing!") I assured her that I wouldn't and she got me the necessary paperwork, which turned out to be half a page. First question: stage name. Of course she told me that I couldn't have one that was already taken, but I had mine picked out before I stepped in the door. Everyone, meet my alter ego: ALEXIS! (I got it from here, of course--on the stickied thread about favorite stage names.) She said she'd have one of the girls "show me and around and teach me how to make my money and shit,".
She warned me about how some people can be incredibly touchy and some are downright rude (but said that some will treat you like a lady), and naturally I knew that from all of you. There were only two dancers there--no customers at all. Both were seated at the bar staring off into space. One gave me a sort of "what are you doing here?" glance, but neither said anything. Then again, I didn't expect them to.
Conveniently enough, they have a store in the back of the club--how nice! She said that prices may seem high at first (I was too shocked by the fact that I was instantly hired.) but that when compared to other places his prices are decent. (I'll have to look into that.) Naturally she told me I don't have to buy one right off the bat, but denim is definately a no-no.
Of the girls I saw, both wore practically nothing. (Yes, I know it's a strip club. Bear with me.) Bra, panties, and something clear over that. I'm worried that I will be dramatically overdressed tonight and radiate 'NEWBIE!' so brightly that people will veer away from me. Should I take the bra/pantie set I brought and just wear that or take a few other things with me to check it over with the manager?
Wish me luck!![]()
