Default Silly Question, but- Glow Nails- good or bad?

OKay, my stupid nail salon forgot that I like the normal top coat and gave me the glow-in-the-dark one instead...you know, the one that looks florescent white in the blacklight? Well, I wasn't too happy when I went to work yesterday and discovered it. I personally think that it's tacky for your nails to glow in the dark, especially since any chips are QUITE visible real easy. The other girls got where I was coming from, but the guys were mixed about whether they noticed it at all or whether it was slightly psychedelic for them. My question is- should I go back and ask for my normal top coat or just tough it out? What's your opinion about these kinds of nails? Have you seen any difference good or bad for you when you have this kind of topcoat on?

they dont notice. i always have gel on top of mine and they glow.. i dont get it SO they glow, i get it because i like gel on top. but guys arent looking at your nails. if theyre looking close enough at your nails that they could see chips (which you really shouldnt have with gel) they need to get a life!

I HATE when they glow. I always ask for the non glowing top coat. Only exception is when I get pink/whites or the glitter tips because I have them use the gel overlay... but its not a bright glow like some... it doesnt even show up at my club because there arent that many black lights.

But all in all.... If it were me, id change it

I used to always get that topcoat and I remember this guy asking me about it because he liked it. But he was also complimenting me on my nails which he thought were real, and how the 'cool top coat' complimented them or something. But a lot of ppl mistake my nails for real, 99.9% of the time I get american acrylic (like french but the tips are less white), and they do look really natural. So who knows? And really, as much as we worry about our fingernails and pedicures and eyebrows and whatever, guys really probably don't care that much anyways... But I don't get that glow gel anymore, they started using that pink buffing cream or whatever it's called, I LOVE it... sparkly

I've always thought they looked cool, and when I got mine done I never asked for it and always meant to. Well I like when they glow and the "clothes" glow too... but if you wear outfits that dont glow I think the nails look kinda outta place.

well, sometimes my outfits glow and sometimes they don't. My other problems are that I'm such a tomboy when I'm off work and I have this bad habit of chewing on my nails...I'm not gonna waste my time trying to get it redone, but I'll definitely ask before the damn shit goes on next time.

I think glow-in-the-dark polish makes the nails and hands look big.

I love my glowing nails. I switched nail salons because the girl I went todidn't have glowing topcoat. I always get compliments on them from guys...but I don't think it matters either way.

I've never liked the glowing nails, but its not such a faux-pas that I'd have to go get fixed right away. I'd just get it changed during my next salon visit.

IMHO it depends on your style. I wouldn't sport glowing nails, but I've seen other girls rock it and it looks good on them.

The only way to get the glow topcoat off is to buff your acrylics down to almost nothing bring your own topcoat next time! The only one that glows is the airbrush one.

No dude, I say stick it out. It would be alright for a week and half. I like when longer nails glow a little. I think they do too.

I hate when they glow because you see the nail artist's flaws. They NEVER apply it right because they assume it's clear. Nup. Not in blacklight. FIX IT.

My current nail lady is perfect and never does this (she actually checks it in black light), but I still hate the glowing thing. I don't ask her not to, though, since I don't work in clubs anymore anyway. But it's nice she goes that extra step.

I like the glow and usually get complimented on it. When I dance I run my hands over my body and it attracts their eyes to whatever part I am grazing.

Personally I can't stand glowing nails, I think they are tacky. If you're ok with them glowing keep them until you're next nail appointment if not, head on back to the salon and get them to fix it.

Like I said, I've got too much going on to be able to make the time, so I'm just gonna stick it out for a couple weeks then go in and make sure I get my regular attendant who knows how I like it done. But I do have to agree with cameron_keys, I ran my hands up and down my body and the guys' eyes usually followed.

I personally don't care, but when I've had them glow I got a lot of guys that commented how it was really cool.
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.
