    Default Easy Hollandaise sauce recipe?

Maybe this should be in BB, but I thought more people might see it here. I got this kick ass version of eggs benedict at IHOP the other day (instead of canadian bacon it had tomatoes, mushrooms, and avocado) and I want to make it myself. Only thing is, I have no idea how to make hollandaise sauce, and the recipes I've found look complicated.

Anyone have any good easy recipes? Thanks!

I always just buy the prepackaged mixes, all you do is add milk and butter. You can find them in the gravy mix aisle. I'm not sure if I get McCormick or Knorr brand.

You should try Bernaise sauce too...I like it even better and I think it goes on a wider variety of food. I love it on eggs, salmon, steak, mmmmmmm yummay.

yup, I get the Knorr brand. It's easy and gooooood. You should pick up both the hollandaise and the bernaise to see which one you like better.

    YW!

You need one of these: You can probably find one in Tar-jay. Before you know it, you'll create an eggs benedict that rivals anything that IHOP could ever whip up.

They make little pans that look like muffin tins for poaching eggs.

Here's how to make poached eggs. I don't recommend the microwave as it kills everything nutritious.

yes, they're very easy to cook in the pan. They sell little molds too like large biscuit or cookie cutter looking things so you can get the perfect round shape.

poaching eggs is super easy. Get a frying pan, fill with water, boil. Crack eggs into water being careful not to break the yolk. Let cook for a few minutes until whites are firm. Take a slotted spoon(if you dont have pans deep enough to hold enough water to completely cover eggs) and gently spoon boiling water over the yolks. You only have to do it a few times until the yolk looks cloudy since poached eggs are supposed to have runny yolks. If you want a firm yolk....just do it a bit longer.

Turn heat off. Spoon eggs onto plate with slotted spoon.

Takes about 5 minuntes. I cant cook for shit and even I can make poached eggs!

You can use a pot. It doesn't have to be a skillet or frying pan. But, it doesn't even need to be a pot, either. You just want to have enough water where the egg won't touch the bottom of the pan. So, if you don't have a deep skillet, you can use a cooking pot (like one you boil noodles, etc in).

I'm going to go to the store and buy some spinach, ham, and english muffins and make me some eggs benedict.

    Damn you, sxy!!!!

If you ever want to try a healthy vegan version, this "101 Things To Do With Tofu" cookbook that just got brought up in Body Biz has a good (and wicked easy) recipe. Just FYI, since you're already making a delicious-sounding vegetarian version!

    Mmm. Cravings . . .

That's funny - I just printed out a hollandaise recipe this morning. It's tricky, but luckily I'm with my Mom, who is the master of hollandaise and bernaise. Will let you know how it goes...
