I wouldn't. I know you said you're pretty advanced, but God forbid you slipped and fell.
And keep us posted regarding the pregnancy!

i agree. don't do them.

Ultimately it's your choice but you'd be putting your baby at risk (if you fall). Falling is more likely while pregnant because your center of gravity changes.
IMO, it depends on how pregnant you are. If you are still physically comfortable and able while doing the pole tricks, I'd say go for it.
My 2 cents is to be moderate about it. Maybe inversions aren't a great idea, and maybe not climbing the pole to the top, but I don't see why IF you're already advanced and in good shape, you couldn't do a few simple spins, at least. It doesn't have to be all or nothing!

Glamazon,
I'm putting pole work in the same category as exercise. Pregnant women can and should exercise unless it has potential harm to the baby. Like, is it a possibility that a flying object will hit the stomach? (like in ball sports) Is crashing/falling likely? (like gymnastics or polework)
WALKING and pole work are WAY different. I don't even need to explain how and why. It's obvious.
I'm also putting pole work in the same category as exercise. When I was pregnant, my doctor not only said it was okay, but encouraged me to keep up my same activity level thru my entire pregnancy. This included working out at the gym, hiking and work.
You posted that the center of gravity changes while a woman is pregnant. This is so true and the effects of that are largely felt while on one's feet, making a pregnant woman most clumsy while she's walking. That was my point.
To the OP--It sounds like you're very early on, if at all pregnant. Use your own judgement and listen to your body. Also, talking to your doctor about these concerns would probably be the best idea.

As long as you're not falling, simple polework is probably less risky than wearing eight inch heels, which tilt your uterus to an angle that encourages miscarriage.

i wasn't thinking about the simple spins. oops. When I hear polework i automatically think inversions and stuff.
Ditto. I was moving furniture when I was 7 months gone with my last one.
In the long run you are the best judge of what you can and can not handle. Common sense is key... if your far gone and huge, trying to wing yourself around a pole is silly. First couple of months though? Meh. I don't see how hanging upside down or wearing heels is going to hurt you if you're healthy.
Um...didn't you just ask like 3 days ago how long it would take before you could do a pregnancy test? If it's only been like a week since you had sex and *may* have gotten pregnant, I highly doubt you have anything to worry about when it comes to pole tricks.
I personally would figure out whether or not I was pregnant first before completely cutting them out of your routine.
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

Pole is Exercise...
I have just finished vamping a new curiculum for pregnant women...Pregnant Pole. It has been collabotated with an OBGYN from here at the University.
It is safe for pregnant women to do basic moves...NO inverting..it is considered active living movements.
Controlled basic spins, floorwork, transitions, step up (not climb)...for the most part it is just range of motion movements...and helping them feel good about themselves..which is good for the baby too! All participants MUST discuss program with their obgyn, before acceptance.
Pole ...in this sense...is allowable up to delivery! I know fitness instructors who have taught right up to delivery...if they can do aerobics and step or spin classes...basic pole is fine. BUT DO NOT OVEREXERCISE...it is just as bad!! Know your limitations...speak with your doctor.
