    Default Organic Coconut Oil Rave

Lately I've been reading all about pure coconut oil and its many benefits, so I went out and bought a big tub of raw, organic, unheated, undeodorized, unrefined... (yadda yadda yadda) coconut oil. It is the only thing I've ever used so far that effectively moisturizes the dry skin on my body, I use a little on my face before I go to sleep after I've cleansed it and my face is nowhere near as oily as it usually is when I wake up. And, I ran a good deal through my hair and let it sit for a few hours before washing it the other day, and my hair blew out so smooth and silky when I dried it and it still is. Everyone at the club was complimenting me on how silky it looked, I told them to soak their strands in coconut oil.

I use it as my face moisturizer. I get lots of compliments on my skin when I use it too.

Using it for 3-4 days as a facial moisturizer, and my skin already looks a lot more clear and radiant. I still love my Clarins cleaners, but I no longer need their serums or moisturizers. (Good, 'casue it saves me more $$$)

I got my tub of Emerald Lab. at Rite Aid, I think it was $13.99? But any health food store should have it, probably not too common in grocery stores.

I've gotten mine from Whole Foods and Vitamin Shoppe. It's in the food section; not the beauty section.

It's suprising that is so good for my skin. I have a history of being acne prone but it doesn't affect it. (Usually acne-prone people are told to stay away from oil.)

It's saved me $ on buying fancy moisturizers and serums too.

Wow, this is crazy, I was just at the health food store picking up stuff for my new super diet (lol). Anywayssss, I saw a big tub of that cocnut oil, and I was so interested to know what it could be for, other then hair but I couldn't find anyone to help. I know my hubby uses for his hair (he's half black, half white) and it works wonders, but I never thought of using it as a skin moisterizer, I heard u can cook with another type of coconut oil too. I'm gonna have to try it.....
    Thx for the info!

You can cook with it, and the tub of oil that I bought recommends taking a tablespoon of it three times daily with a meal. It tastes like nothing IMO, but it does smell of coconuts, which made my breakfast not-so-good when I fried my eggs in it. It tasted like nothing and the texture was fine, but I didn't enjoy smelling coconuts while eating eggs. I'm gonna see what it's like when I fry heavily seasoned foods in it, hopefully the seasonings will mask the coconut smell?

    It melts very easily.

I love coconut oil. You can find it at most East Indian type grocery stores. Try to buy cooking grade, as the other stuff can contain impurities.

It's the only product that can gotten me hair-silk comparisons.

Just make sure it's completely pure and unprocessed.
