I was wondering about something that happened to me at a SC recently. I was at a Las Vegas club when this dancer sat down with me. We chatted for a while, and we were having some fun. At one point, she asked me what I was doing the next day, and then went on to ask if I'd like some company for dinner. I said sure, she gave me her cell phone number, and after speaking the next day, we made plans for meeting for dinner.

Just before we were supposed to meet, she sends me this text message to the effect of, "I have to go to work. Last night was really slow. Need to make $300 for rent." So now I knew the hustle was on, and I just texted her back, "I understand. Good luck."

Here's my question though. While I wasn't interested in this case, there are times when I'm traveling when I wouldn't mind doing this. It's not too hard to spend $300 on a night at a club, and I bet a lot of us would rather give some money directly to a dancer to have a great companion for a night out.

Is there any way that a customer could raise this with a dancer -- i.e., offer to compensate her for a night's work at the club -- and not offend her?
