    Tampa ladies, the parade's coming...

Hello ladies. If you live in the Tampa Bay area, you know how dead your club can be on Guavaween. (Actually, the clubs have been pretty dead for a while). Everyone is partying down in Ybor and you get the occasional costumed straggler coming into your club. After people are partying in Ybor for several hours, they tend to go home afterward instead of heading to the strip clubs.

So instead of going into work that Saturday night and making nothing, you should plan on having a little fun. I host one of the biggest floats during Guavaween. The float is a moving strip club, we have a stripper pole on it, fog machines, and a DJ spinning music. Our float took 1st place last year. Our krewe name, Tampa's Pirate's Booty. Why, because my float flaunts the best bootys in the Tampa Bay area.

The float is sponsored by local clubs in the area. This year, the sponsors are Mons Venus, Penthouse, Gold Club, Emperor's Club, Deja Vu, Flash Dancers, Bare Assets and Envy. If you work for one of those clubs, talk to your manager about getting on the float. (except for Mons, more on that below)
Anyway, going to Guavaween is a blast. I'm not talking about being in the huge crowd getting shoved around. Here's your chance to be on a float, throwing beads and tokens, while 80,000 people are screaming trying to get your attention. The tokens will have your club name on one side and a promo on the other like "free admission". This way you get to do a little marketing and hopefully generate a little more business for you club. Which in turn means more money for you.

Oh yeah, did I mention free alcohol! While the parade is going, I have sponsors that cater the event. Yes ladies, that means FREE drinks. Last year, Bong Vodka was on hand. 16 bottles of vodka for 60 people. Well let's just say that halfway through the parade, a lot of us had a good buzz going. This year, Monster will be supplying the mixers.

After the parade is over, you'll have FREE access to a few clubs as well. We'll have a balcony party at Churchills where we continue the bead throwing. Last year, Prana gave everyone VIP access to their Sanctuary floor. We'll probably have that again.

Anyway, if you don't work at one of the sponsoring clubs, but would be interested in going, post a reply or send me a message. I've still got room available. This year's Guavaween theme is "Get your freak on". So you can dress as "freaky" as you want.

And for any ladies that work at Mons, if you are interested, same thing, shoot me a message so I know who are. Last year, only 3 girls showed up from Mons because the managers didn't tell any of you. This year, Joe didn't want to hassle the managers again, so I'm doing the recruiting.

Here's a shot of the front of the float. You can see the pole in back.

I just moved to Tampa about a month ago and have never heard of Guavaween. Is it just like a big Halloween celebration?

I moved to Tampa last year and had a new born around last Halloween but from what I gather Guavaween is almost like Mardi Gras except with a Halloween twist . People party in the streets , mostly the streets in the club district known as Ybor . It looks like fun if you are working it but I don;t think I would want to party like that ...just me .

Sooooo are you paying these girls for working on a Saturday night or what ??

Guavaween is kinda like one REALLY BIG mosh pit lol lots of chaos, some annoying assholes and everybody pretty much drunk off their ass. lol and as to your question, Sindi, the girls are probably not gonna get paid...considering that they charge an entry fee to get into Ybor City for Guavaween, this is probably seen by many of the girls as SAVING them money, especially with the added impetus of free booze. And, as Rich said, they're probably not gonna make much money on this Saturday night ANYWAYS lol

Yep, Christy said it for me. You're not making much money that night, so if you're gonna take any Saturday night off, it might as well be that one. But instead of taking it off and sitting at home, come out and have a little fun. Everybody had a great time last year.

As far as getting paid, again, Christy's right, nope. But the clubs are paying everything for you. They paid for the money for the float your are riding. The beads and the tokens that you will be throwing. That's not cheap, its a few thousand dollars. If it was cheap, clubs would have been doing it years ago. I just started getting club owners involved in it last year.

And Sindi, being in the huge crowd isn't always my cup of tea either, but being on the float is a totally different experience than being in the crowd.

It will definitely be dead during the game. After the game, if your club is right around the stadium, home games draw people in after the game is over. How long they stay and whether or not they spend money is the question.

Since we are playing Jacksonville, you should expect some Jacksonville fans to drive down. (Tourists seem to spend more money than the locals). Ah, I remember the good Sundays when Green Bay fans would stay for a long weekend (the Bucs rarely get to play them now because of division changes). Anyway, if your club is real close to the stadium and does free entry with ticket stubs, guys will come in for at least half an hour. If you got that good hustle, maybe you can get some money. If they have to pay to get in, they have a tendency to stay longer, but you get less customers through the door.

    That's my 2 cents.

So ladies, ready for the parade?! Only 8 hours away.

Yeah, we had some guys come in for the game, but they were bitchy cuz Tampa lost by a point. *sigh* It was tooth and nail and I finally gave up at 10...how was the parade? I would've come out but my foot party I'd already RSVP'd to ended at 8.

i didn't see this before, but i don't go to guavaween anymore. i used to go every year, but now it's just an excuse for people to molest women in the crowd and act like assholes. most of the people who go don't even dress up anymore. plus, everything is 10 times more expensive and it's so crowded you can barely move.

for that reason, i've thrown a party every year (for the last 4 or 5) on guavaween night. this saturday about 45 people showed up at my house -all- in costume. it was excellent.
