Default When do I start (weight-wise)?

Ok girls, I'm proud to report that I've lost 50lbs. Went from 206 to 156. I haven't started dancing yet, but my friend and I have been checking out clubs. We want to start together. Good idea or bad? She says she wants to tone her tummy up more but honestly she's smaller than me and I'm jealous. I really want to begin dancing and now! My goal is to be 140 by the end of next month (weight loss program), which is also the weight I would like to start dancing. I really want to start though before I get scared and punk out. Right now I'm feeling pretty amped. But I still need to lose those last 15lbs which shouldn't take long at all. Hoping dancing will also force me to stay in shape.

Here's a pic I took at 160. Do you think I should wait a while? And get more toned? Or start now?

    Congrats on the weightloss!

I'd recommend checking out the different clubs in your area to see the types of girls that are working there. See where you fit in.

Other than that, if you're comfortable with your body now, start auditioning at the clubs where you can see yourself working.

I showed the pic to my man(who is a club manager) and he said he would hire you at that weight.... he also said he would have a hard time not staring at your ass lol.

So if your comfortable with yourself I say go for it. Find some clubs and start auditioning

^^^No kidding! Damn that's awesome for you!

Your best weapons are confidence and stamina. Trust me, even if you don't start at your target weight, you'll be there in no time if you keep moving all night! I'd jump right in!

Thumbs up Re: When do I start (weight-wise)?

I'm not a stripper (though I'd like to try it out), but I do have some advice- like the other girls said, GO FOR IT- if you feel comfortable as you are. You said you wanted to do it before you got scared and backed out. Sometimes I get up the nerve to do something and I know if I wait, I'll lose it and I may never get it back- or if I do regain my courage, I may have to wait awhile for it. If you put off doing it just to wait on your friend, when your friend is ready, you might be having second thoughts thanks to fear creeping back in. My friend and I once planned to get our tongues pierced together, but I got the urge when I was out with someone else and I didn't want to diss my friend, but I was afraid that it was then or never- so I did it. If you explain why you want to start now instead of later, your friend should understand. Good luck! By the way, I think your picture looks good!

You look good to me, I'd start now if I were you since you said you're all amped up.

I agree with everyone else you seem to have the right attitude right now and you look fine. I would day..."go for it" and let us know how it goes for you!

You look fine... the only way to know if you can get hired/follow thru is to go to the club and audition.

Thanks guys. I guess I will start at this weight. It's dropping by itself anyway so dancing will help structure my body.

i started dancing at 145, gained lots of weight (180) and now i'm back down to 150-160 (fluctuates). you will get hired, unless the clubs where you are at are super picky and only want barbies.

Yes congrats on your weight loss that is SUCH a hard obstacle...
Dont get upset if you audition somewhere an they dont hire you, I think thick is beautiful, i am a thick girl myself... so I say GO FOR IT
make sure it is topless only, you can also wear outfits to conceal your weight such as corset or those beautiful new scoop neck tops they have= I would continue to tone up- U dont necessarily have to lose weight, if you can tone it and carry it well!

CONGRATS!!! Nothing like going from "bleh" to "fine". I've done it!

As the others have said...go for it! many men will ADORE you and pass up the skinny beeyotches (hey--I'm one! I can say that!) to get with you. Plus you'll lose weight when you start dancing regularly.
