^ Didn't you get fired for drinking at some point? I might be thinking of the wrong person, but I seem to remember this happening around the time I started dancing.

yup, but I really dont drink often at all and well when the manager's offer me drinks. Also the day I got fired from there I sipped the champagne.

Ahhh ok. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, I just have experience with something similar re: alcohol underage and wanna make sure new girls don't get themselves in trouble or fired over it.
Basically I just don't want new girls to get a nonchalant vibe from us about stuff like that.
^ wow. Really? I never knew.
And 16 in Maine? Crazy. I went to Maine when I was 17, and I was walking along a boardwalk smoking a cig, and a cop stopped me and asked if I had ID. I showed it to him...and he confiscated my pack of smokes. Said it was illegal to smoke if you were underage.( I thought it was illegal to buy them, not to smoke them?)
So anyway...that gave me the impressino maine is strict. Guess not if they can serve at 16 and sell at 18. wow.
angela- good luck! *high 5 on that first 20* never danced yet, but i think that since you are still in high school, only dance part time... and save up! well you should save up anyways...lol... but 2-3 shifts a week while you're doing school should work out just fine. but then i could be wrong... but anyways, you don't want to be completely burnt out everyday at school from working nights all week long. can pull off a good SAT score on no sleep or studying lol
-------
i don't know how old you have to be to serve alcohol in ohio in restaurants, but you have to be 18 to scan alcohol at your register at the grocery store... that's interesting about maine
That doesn't surprise me, I've gotten carded walking down the street smoking up here. It's not so much that maine as really strict, but that the cops don't get that much real action so they get bored.
Edit: There has to be a supervisor that is at least 21 there if you are a minor and serving liqour.
I started dancing a week after I turned 18. I graduated at 17 and started college at 17 also. I was stripping to pay for my new car and school too. It's not a bad thing to strip at a young age you just have to be ready for all the crap the men will throw at you. A good amout will tell you its ok to cross the line b/c they know the manager. It maybe true that they know them but you don't have to let anyone touch your or try to do something that's not allowed in the club b/c they say that. Another thing... don't feel forced to drink! You don't have to drink b/c of your age. Some clubs will let you but unless you know how to handle yourself don't. You can get a fake drink. Just get to know some waitresses and let then know to bring you fruity drinks with no alcohol. Some clubs don't let you turn down drinks. If you work on just the weekend you'll make some pretty good money. I would only work like 4-5 days out the month and I was doing just fine. Just make sure you stay a clean girl b/c no STD or infection is worth whatever someone is offering. Good Luck!
Valid concerns, but I started dancing 3 days after I turned 18. Some women actually have their heads securely on their shoulders at that age. I'm glad though that you're putting the warning out that it can be very easy to let yourself slip away in directions that you never would have wanted to go. Best of luck to the OP! Just keep everything in perspective, be skeptical, go to work sober, stick to your boundaries, and remember that stripping is a job and not a lifestyle.

you can end up smoking crack and sucking dick whether you start at 18, 25, 30. that depends on what type of person you are, not your age.

^ i was just stating that naivety can be your worst enemy.
me at 18 is COMPLETELY different from me now. i wonder how i'll be when i'm 25.
OP sounds very mature. I also think its adorable you had a dance routine. My question to the OP is: have you seen the lapdancing? Is it high contact? What do you think?
Waitressing and stage dancing are relatively harmless on the psyche. Dealing with customers and trying to sell them lapdances and VIP time can be rough.

I did however have my first VIP dance a few weeks ago over thanksgiving weekend. This guy that I knew a couple of years ago came into the club. He was a senior when I was a freshman, I recognized him and tried to stay away I did not want him to know that I worked there. Well That last all of 10 minutes when I got reassigned to his table. He remembered me pretty well and we got to talking. He was back in the area from college for break, were he is studying to be a doctor. So right then I had like a hundred questions for him. He wound taking me into the VIP room for an hour where we talked and I gave him several dances and had some fun . . .
It was not bad for my first VIP dance, free college advise and about 400 total for it (i guess he got some good scholarship money)

I started being a stripper when I was 19, fresh out of high school. Had to support my tuition fee in college so I had to some part-time webcam stripper stuff.
I didn't tell my parents until I was 21. They were disappointed, a bit mad, but hey, at least I'm doing something that is needed for my education.

i have to agree that the op sounds mature. i am sorry for being so mean in my first post in this thread.
Officially done with high school today took my last test. I'll be working full time now at my club. Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Some of the remakes from my thread really made me study harder for my ACT's and finales.![]()
