Some months ago I had a rather joyous evening out, which ended with me taking an ankle-tendon-snapping header down my apartment stairs. Though I drunkenly passed it off as, "Noffthin. I;nm fiinne", I awoke to a swollen mess that had no intention of bearing my weight.
At the risk of being too wordy, I'll add the part of the story that proves what an elegant lady I am: I had no ace bandage, but in my hungover and sore state, I was sure that a cardigan, tightly wrapped, would work fine. No cane wasn't a problem, because hell, I had a Swiffer! So I spent the next couple of days answering the door to various and sundry pizza dudes, leaning on on a swiffer, bound in an argyle cardigan. Because I am a classy bitch.
Good times.
So after months of braces and ace bandages and wincing, I'm finally healed. But I suddenly can't walk in heels to save my life! I used to wear them almost daily, so I don't remember ever working up to it before.
As women who regularly wear shoes that reach to heaven, do you have any advice for me on strengthening exercises I can do to return my feet and ankles to their former glory? This feelin' short business is getting old. And my stilettos are lonely.
Is it just a matter of practice or is there something specific I can do to make sure that my lower limbs are in fine fettle again?
Thanks for any tips you guys have.![]()
