Has anyone used them?
I was thinking of going w/one, since it seems to easy to stay out trouble.
Seriously, tho, I need a backup plan in case of disaster.![]()

Heh, I know my friend's parents used to sell it, seemed like a multi-level marketing scam to me, though I don't know if the product itself is any good.
I believe you Dottie and you have my support

IMHO the secret of cost effective legal services is to select an attorney who A. specializes in the particular aspect of the law that your 'problem' deals with, and B. has some decent 'good ol boy' connections to judges and LE in the jurisdiction where your 'problem' will be handled. Prepaid legal services offer neither of these.

Ok, thanks.!

I'm a paralegal by day and most of the pre-paid services are completed by people like moi with very little attorney supervision. There are some legal processes that are cut and dry like wills and unlawful detainers, while others are far complex. It really depends on what type of legal help you need. Care to elaborate?
If you're talking about "Pre Paid Legal" the company, they are a pyramid scam, IMO. I have a friend who "works" for them. You'd be better off saving 20 dollars a week in a just in case fund and chatting up your next lawyer customer and getting his card.
