    Default vitamin water

ok, is this stuff ok for you? i recently started drinking the power-c flavor and it gives me lots of energy. its just vitamins, right? sugar, too, but is it really that bad for me?

(i dont drink anything but 1% milk and water usually. i skip juices and sodas for the most part but i like these and i can tell im getting my vitamins! more than when im drinking emergen-c packets)

I've never heard anything bad about it. The only problem I can think of of geting cavaties if you drink them a lot. Just rinse your mouth out with water after you drink one.

They're not necessarily BAD for you, however, the second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup (I believe...it's been a while since I've looked at it) and that's not good for you at all. If you are watching your weight, this is definitely high on the "sabotage" list.

You're better off sticking with plain water and just increasing your veggie/fruit intake (for vitamins that your body can really easily digest). Otherwise, stick with your vitamin pills. The vitamin water has about as much "sugar" as soda...

this might be a stupid question, but will it say "high fructose corn syrup"? it has listed "crystalline fructose" and "cane sugar."

Thanks hun i will be around! Isn't it good stuff. My doctor says it's better than Gatorade because of the sugar content!!! I love it.

Right! And what's funny, around here our store does not stock enough! It's getting pretty popular.

Fructose in any form is just as bad. They're trying to make it sound better. If it's anywhere near the top of the list, it's loaded with sugar. And, I know it's loaded with sugar because I tried one once and my teeth had the "coating". Ick. It also tastes very sweet.

Lots of companies use sugar and sugar substitutes in their products. Why? Because it's addictive...highly. And, if you are addicted to their product, what does that mean? More sales! So, it is very hard to find food that doesn't come with sugar/fructose/sucrose, etc in it. To prove it...on your next shopping trip, take a paper and pen with you and make 2 columns...one column will be No sugars at all (added) and the other With sugar (added). Obviously the fruits and veggies will go into the first column. But, based on my previous experience...almost everything else you put into your cart will contain some kind of added sugar.

That's when I stopped shopping at the stores and started going full organic.

Some of the vitamin waters contain stimulants like caffeine, ginseng and gotu kola. If you google "vitamin water ingredients", you'll see what I mean.

I LOOOVVEEE vitamin water. I have tried every flavor! They each have their own purpose for me. Revive for hangovers, multiV for everyday, PowerC for when I need a pickmeup, XXX for when I feel I need antioxidants, etc etc etc.

They have sugar, but not as much as sodas.

If watching calories and/or sugar is any kind of an issue, you may want to consider Propel waters, they're much lower in cals that vitamin water, they have vitamins and some have calcium and the flavor is good. Anothrething I like is by Tropicana....they have a line of flavored juice waters that are 0 cal....I think they're called Fruit Squeeze. I lovethose as well, but I don't think they have vitamins.

Seriously though, I prefer Propel to any of the others. Gatorade is soon to be coming out with lower cal drinks as well.

i drink the glaceau brand too. that flavor has less sugar then the rest? my power-c kind has about 32g sugar in an entire bottle.

if you are drinking them for vitamin content they are pretty much useless.
    especially any fat soluble vitamins (a, e, d, k)
we watched a whole video in my nutrition class on it, i will try to find it and post.
the actual maker/ceo of the company even says "we dont ACTUALLY claim that they provide vitmains" or something shockingly manipulative like that
