    Default question about black skin

so i saw this guy today whose skin was mostly dark black, but he had differnt sized patches of really light brown all over (face/neck/arms), it was really really noticeable . Im just curious if this is a normal genetic trait or it is caused by some kind of disorder.

i think i know what you're talking about. i always thought it was a mix of genetics and disorder. nothing bad though.

Well then that first link was a fungus in the body and isn't scary at all and I've had it alot when I was younger. It goes away with meds or on its own.

The 2nd has no real known cause of why a person get vitiligo and also no known real cure.

    thanks TigersMilk!
i find it pretty interesting, and now that i see that picture i think i might have seen quite a few others with small patches of it, including my mom (her shoulder) a few years ago, i believe she was taking Ketoconazole for it

Its common for people of mixed ansestry to have uneven skin tones. It can vary - I had a very black friend who had very white patches - they were only small though and not really in places which were noticable. Mine are not really notacable as the skin tone doesnt vary that much really but I have do have a lot of patches. Iveseen it in white skin too.

Up until about 2 minutes ago I was under the faulse impression that the condition was called Mongolian Spots - which is what the hospital told my aunt when my cousin was born. I just googled it though and discovered thats not what it is so unfortunatly i cant provide a link to see if we a re talking about the same thing or not.
