Default I almost hustled at the craps table last night .

I'm at the craps table last night and I have a really L.O.N.G roll ...... yeah !
For people who don't play craps, just understand that a long roll = good money.

I think I rolled 5 numbers plus hit 3-4 come out rolls and the roll lasted around 20-25 min. ! That's a lot of money for all the players at the table . I'm conservative with my bets , so I made about $40 from my little $5 bets and the people who were betting lots more made LOTS more .

I almost looked around the table ( about 12 guys plus me at the table ... it's a male dominated game ) and WITH EYE CONTACT smiled at everyone and said " I'm not above taking tips for that great roll " .

I wish I would have now ! It's common to tip a few bucks to a good roller in craps . I just think it's funny how SW hustle tips can carry over into other areas of life . I should have tried it and frankly was a little mad when no one threw a chip or two my way!

    25 minutes? only $40??
    Oh my...
    That makes me so sad.

The last time I played craps, I rolled for 30 minutes and left with 4grand.
Started with $100. When your on fire..gotta bet it! it's not often you can catch a good roll like that.

ANyway....when I roll for long periods of time, I have occasionally been tipped, usually, they will bet tips for me. "hard 4 for the lady"

Personally, I'd rather they just bet tips for the dealer than me. I'm makin money, they are makin money..the dealer needs to make money. Plus..the more tips he gets in game, the less I have to tip out when the roll is over. Plus if you bet his tips he can make more and it cost you less.

But I would never ever suggest I get tipped for a good roll. That is just tacky. Like I said, you made money, they made money. everyone's happy.

Not sure this is HH material, since it don't pertain to SC hustling......

I'm a firm believer that it takes money to make money. My boyfriend and I started with 1k before and won 10k in about 40 minutes. It was crazy! But yeah, always tip the dealer and I would never expect tips if I'm not the person working.

I told this story to illustrate how reading SW has put hustling on the forefront of my mind. I DIDN'T ask for tips at the craps table. I thought it was just funny that my instinct was to hustle.

You have to tip the dealer? WTF? I'm going to Vegas for the first time this weekend and I have to tip the freaking dealer? God, can I ever get away from tipout! That's bullshit!

^It's not bullshit. They get paid minimum wage. Your only expected to tip if your winning.
Rule #1 of Vegas: Tip EVERYONE.
It's how this city makes their living. From valet, to the baggage people, the taxi guy( all he does is wave down the cab for you) the dealers, the waitresses...everyone out here gets tips.

Not to mention, if you're tipping the dealer, he'll help you win. The First Law of Casino Blackjack is to ALWAYS tip the dealer that extra 50% you get on a blackjack, and a little something-something else now and then. That way if you're about to do something stupid, you get a warning "Are you SURE?" Remember, these guys are way better at the game than you are, and they have no interest in the casino winning. Give them an interest in YOU winning, and they're on your side!

^ yep. The dealers WANT you to win, and they can advise you on the best way to do that. My boyfriend knows all the odds for blackjack. Like if he has a 10 showing, and you have a 12. He knows the odds of him busting or winning, and he can advise if you should hit or stay based on thoes odds. ( alhough that was a bad example cause if you have a 12, you shoudl hit no matter what if he's got a 10 up.) Plus....he's familiar with the whole deck. He knows what cards have been delt already....which gives you an even greater chance at winning if he can say...well..there's already been a lot of 10's out already, so I'll probably bust. You should stay.
The dealer can help you win a lot of money.

Plus....Dealers split their tips. Everything the dealers made in tips for the whole 24 hour day is counted, and split equally among all the dealers who worked that 24 hour period.

The easiest way is to just bet their tip. If you win the hand, they win the tip. SO if your playing $5a hand, bet $1 for them, If you win thathand, they get a $2 tip. I always bet my tips for the dealers..
Ata craps table, the easiest way is to tip at the end of the roll, although of course you can bet tips for them as well. If you bet a $5 hard 8 for the dealers and hit it, they win a lot of money. And you only had to tip $5. I'm not sure of the exact amount, but its somethign liek $60 for a 5 dollar bet, on a hard number like that.

Anyway, it's just more fun when your tippign the dealer. He's in a good mood, your in a good mood, everyone is making money and carrying on..it can be a very fun time.
