    Lightbulb Feature Schools

I'm looking into signing up for the feature school held here in Clearwater (Continental Theatrical Agency) and taught by experienced feature dancer Nakita Kash. What, if anything, has anyone heard of this school- whether it works or not, if it's worth what you pay for it, etc. The reason I ask is that I really would like to graduate from house dancer to a feature in a few years, but until then, I can still use what I might learn at the school to better myself as a house dancer. What's everybody else's take?

The Continental Feature school is a joke. Its such a rip off. Alena Downs ends up with a lot of their students because its such a joke.

If you want to get into featuring take some classes from Alena via web cam, get some promo done and go to some other agencies to get your experience. Enter some of the contests even and use them for networking. Even if you don't win you can still network and get your name out there. Clubs don't really judge you on if you've won, they judge you by if they like your show and stage presence.

I don't know anything personally about this school, but I can tell you the best way to learn about being a feature is to enter some contests. You can see what other people are doing on stage and get some good pointers and probably find out lots of good info about featuring. Save your money for costumes & props, you'll be better off in the long run.
I would suggest trying the Exotic Performer of the Year Pageant. They have the contest this October 31st to November 3rd at the Gallery Gentlemen's Club, 16310 N. US Hwy 51, DeSoto (5 miles north of Carbondale), IL 62924. 618.867.2216.

It will be a 4 day event with lodging paid and a $50.00 entry fee for D.J. and stage crew tip outs.

It will have 3 different divisions:

    1. Amateur (for housegirls or girls interested in becoming featured entertainers)

    2. Rising Star (features with 2 years experience or less)

    3. Masters Division (for established features)...I'll be there!

Check it out, it's a good starting point. For more info, please call Ken w/Lykens Entertainment @ 863.815.0935 , Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm.
I hope this info is helpful to you.

I wouldn't enter a contest yet. Contests can be tough for newbies who don't know what they're getting into.

For sure go watch though if you can. Even try and talk to a few of the girls when your there.

Also give Ken a call for sure, I believe Jada trains new features who have their hearts set on doing it.

If you want my honest opinion though.... featuring is a waste of time and money. It costs a shit load of money to get started. You lose your social life. You work your ass into the ground and its pretty much for nothing lol. I mean if your doing it for the fun and experience then go for it because yes it is fun and it truly is an experience. Just a damn expensive one.

Well, see, I don't have much of a social life to begin with lol and, though all those ideas seem good, I really can't afford to travel right now. That's why I was interested in this school, since it's local in Clearwater. And the only reason I thought about it is that my friend Vivian West, who won feature dancer of the year at last year's Nightmoves Awards was the one who said it helped her finetune her shows. That and I trust the suggestion of Bob Ferguson, who's shot for Cheri Magazine, including the Nudes a Poppin' show, for many years, and said they're a big help. The school itself has never approached me...I was just looking into it because I wanted to further myself as a dancer and already have minor local notoriety as a porn actress as well, so was trying to combine the two of them with the feature circuit.

LoL honestly the school is a waste of time. Said by many of the features.

Jada and Ken are in Fl... contact them.

Or as I said Alena trains features via web cam.

It would be cheaper for you and you would get A LOT more out of it.
