they are great cars and lesbians love them
LOL Emily.
I own a 93 Impreza and the car is awesome! Legacies are great too.
Also a good site to look up car reviews from the owners themselves is .

KamrynAnne - I've never owned a Subaru, but they are well known for being reliable, relatively inexpensive to repair, and pretty safe. Having all-wheel drive is also a good safety feature. My only complaint with Subarus is that they tend to be kinda ugly.
Subarus are gorgeous cars if you like something that doesn't look like everything else.
^^hey girl! thanks for your advice... im at that point where its about to be winter here in ohio, and i currently have a 98 sunfire convertible with over 175,000 miles on it... i want to get my ass covered before the car goes out on me.... my bf and i have been out test driving the car all day to make sure i like it.. its a 2003 legacy.. i think they look different than a lot of cars.. i didn't realize how expsensive they were... must mean they are decent??? any other info would be great.. i just want to make sure its what i want to get.
Yes, they are worth the price. Hardly anyone gets rid of their Subarus, they drive them for ever. That's why there's hardly any private party Subarus for sale, and thus why they can charge a bit more, because they are worth it.
AWD is good for snow and shitty winter road conditions as well.
If this means anything:
My Subaru is beat to shit, but runs like the devil. I will NEVER sell it. Ever.

... because they can rebuild their own engines LOL !!!they are great cars and lesbians love them
Actually, I own an '04 Subaru WRX as well as an '06 Subaru Legacy. Both have been absolutely PERFECT ... zero breakdowns. The only thing that I have had to do with either of my Subarus is to replace tires, change belts & hoses, replace brake pads, replace battery etc. at the appropriate mileage.
PS their All Wheel Drive is great in rain and snow ... I've actually driven home in my WRX with over 12" of snow on the road. Unfortunately the All Wheel Drive doesn't help a bit on glare ice - but then nothing does short of metal studded tires.
The WRX handles better than the Legacy because it is smaller and has a more powerful (turbo) engine. Actually the WRX handles almost like a 'real sports car'. But the WRX is a bit uncomfortable for long drives since it is very small and the suspension is pretty stiff. My legacy handles a bit more like an 'average' car, since it is a bigger car with a wider/longer wheelbase and a more comfortable suspension, but actually gets better mileage than my WRX because the engine is non-turbo (it's available with a turbo engine though ... I often kick myself for not getting a turbo Legacy). Also the Legacy's trunk space is huge which comes in very handy for piles of suitcases for road trips or 20 bags of groceries from Thanksgiving dinner grocery shopping.
The only issue that I have ever had with Subaru as a company is that they maintain a large 'mileage circle' for their dealerships. Here in upstate NY I have an hour's drive to one dealer (who is excellent) and a 45 minute drive to the other dealer (who is OK but their service dep't has some issues). If you live in or very near a big city this is no sweat, but if you don't the distance can be an extra pain in the A$$.
Also, some of the generic chain car repair places i.e. Monroe / Midas have worked on enough Subarus by now that they're very trustworthy with minor repair work. I know this because a cousin owns a 2000 Impreza with over 100,000 miles on it. However, like all cars that develop issues serious enough to turn on the 'check engine' light, only the Subaru dealerships have the appropriate computer hook-up to deal with this level of problem.
PS in regard to the 2003 Legacy you are looking at, 2003 was the first year of the 'new body style'. Thus a 2003 Legacy and a 2008 Legacy look almost identical except for minor details. This helps the resale value ... or put another way the blue book price takes a huge jump between the 'older body style' 2002 Legacy and the 2003 Legacy.

Damn Melonie, I am jealous. I want an 04 Rex!
We have a '04 Subaru Forester. This car rocks!!! Great gas mileage...have had NO problems with it at all...well except for the rotors, but that's because the dealership repair techs were being assholes. Other than that, all we've done is upkeep maintenance and the car runs like a dream.
Joe tows stuff with it...drives a lot of miles with it and it's never given us a problem.
I've only hard great things about Subarus. Very, very reliable!

well, mine has been really great ... but it's a bit more 'male' than I feel like dealing with on some days ... bright red, 5 speed manual, stiff suspension etc. I guess I was a bit 'wilder' when I bought it a few years ago. My Legacy is pearl white, 4 speed auto, soft suspension, leather seats with electric warmers etc. ... just what a girl needs on a long trip home after dancing on the road all week !Damn Melonie, I am jealous. I want an 04 Rex!
.
Did you put the STi wing on it or repaint it? Because that looks like an STi, but they didn't come in San Remo Red.
I love it btw, that's my dream car.
I am heading down to the dealership to go get it...... i gave in.... everybody had positive things to say about the car, which influenced my decision...

Actually I bought it as a 1 year old 'repo' with something like 12,000 miles on it. The college kid that was the original owner apparently did the wing and custom wheels. I also bought the Legacy as a 'program car' with something like 6,000 miles on it, but since Subaru held the title I am listed as the original owner.Did you put the STi wing on it or repaint it? Because that looks like an STi, but they didn't come in San Remo Red.
you won't be disappointed !I am heading down to the dealership to go get it...... i gave in.... everybody had positive things to say about the car, which influenced my decision...
Oh ok.
