Is there a way to convert a man's blazer into a woman's jacket, or am I living in a dream world? I don't know how to use a sewing machine, but I can do a decent running stitch, button hole stitch and close a seam.

You have to rip out the side seams and "take them in" in a curve - for example look at a womans jacket - plus mens and womens buttons are on the opposing sides.
How much you take the side seams in depends on how close fitting you want the jacket to be.
Take it to a tailor for alterations.

I'd follow Glam's advice, that's your safest bet.

Glams advice would DEFINITELY be easiest... Its kinda tweaky making THAT much of an alteration on your own. Takes a lot of toying.
Thank you ladies, for your assistance; I will take your advice.
