Default c-section scar / postpartum stretching

I'm sure this is probably answered somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

I just had my son 6 months ago by c-section. I had wanted to have a natural birth, but things didn't work out.

I am pretty sure my dancing days are over now (much to my sadness), because pregnancy took it's toll on me. Even though I didn't gain very much and used all the different lotions, creams and oils I was left with stretch marks and loose skin. My breasts didn't sag too bad, but they aren't what they were.
I've done enough searching to know that there's no miracle cure for any of that (although if someone has one I'd love to know)

Anyway, the point of the post is this. I am a pale person who shows scars easily and they take a long time to fade.
After 6 months my c-section scar is still a bright red line.
Does anyone have any idea how long it might take to fade?

Oh and while I"m asking does anyone have any advice for ways to get flexible again after having a baby. I need to gain flexibilty everywhere, but especially in my pelvic region. It feels really tight around there in a way I never experienced before having a baby and I don't know how to help it.

    Sorry to ramble.

I dont have any advise about the scarring. But I just wanted to say that if the C-section scar is the only thing keeping you from dancing please re-think that.

So many dancers that I have worked with have had C-section scars and it does not effect their money. I don't think it's very noticeable in the lighting in a SC and even if someone was to see it I don't think it's unattractive. I dont think scars are unattractive at all.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

Try Mederma its supposed to fade scars sold at drug stores. Just try stretching daily to regain flexibility. And the stretch marks if you figure out what to do tell me please.

My Dr was kind enought to prescribe some retin-A creme for me when I was done breasfeeding and it's been helping. I would probably help more if I could remember tqto use it consistantly lol. As for coverup there are LOTS of different makeup items that can cover up stretchmarks and scars. The sticky in the body business section about products ahs some good ones.

I use mineral powder (loreal) to cover mine up for my cam show, but my webcam is good to me and hides a lot of flaws.

Don't let scars keep you from dancing.

As for the rubber skin around your tummy, that will go away. I have that pretty bad still and my daughter is 8 months old. My sister had it just as bad as me but now she has a completely flat and tight tummy again. She said lots of crunches helped her.

I used Mederma on my C-section scar and my stretch marks and also a kitty scratch . I think it works well but you have to stick with it because once I have slacked off the lotion it just does not seem to work as well the next time .

I have been thinking that Iwill never be able to dance again because of how bad my body looks since the baby .....I did gain ALOT of weight about 65-70 lbs actually BUT when I was only 3-4months along and had only gained about 15lbs I had already had most of the damage done to my body .

IT was weird , my boobs sagged right away and I stretch marks EVERYWHERE except my tummy .....I have some the top of my thighs that look like burn scars and sometimes they get itchy or sore ......I am thinking that between lighting and make up or sparkle lotion and short skirts that they might not look so bad ......I will need a boob job however !!!

My tummy scar is sensative too , I mean it should be right ? They saw us in half , so don't worry things will fall back into place oxoxxo

Hey, try Relastyl for the stretch marks....they'll be hardly noticible in a few months. Then use Dermablend to hide it while you get rid of the marks. It will also cover your cesarian scar!!! As for the loose skin-- do pilates, it tightens key muscles enough to provide skin elasticity!!! Yeah, I shoulda finished medical school!!! Good Luck!

The redness will fade with time. Cocoa butter may help. The only advice I can give is to keep it away from sunlight or beds. A girl I worked with tanned immediately after her c-section and was left with a dark reddish-brown scar that she had to have lasered. The Dr said the UV exposure caused it.

I'm so glad someone brought this topic up. I just had my son a month and a half ago. By Emergency C-section. My scar is not big but the line is red. I'm planning on going back to work in January. Unless you work at a nude club you can cover your scar by wearing a g-string that's a little higher in the front (and I don't mean those 80's g-strings lol). I have seen so many girls with c-section scars and they are successfull in their work.

And as far as stretchmarks- I went from 140 lbs. to 187 lbs. I tried using Palmers Tummy Butter to prevent stretchmarks but it was giving me a rash (I'm using it now without any problems). I have 3 big stretchmarks on each side of my stomach and a few smaller ones on my lovehandles, they're especially noticable now that I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight. But my mom told me to rub a generous amount of castor oil on my stomach, wrap plastic wrap around and put a hot pad on it for 20 to 25 minuted. Wash it off with a warm washcloth. I've been doing that for a month now and my stretchmarks have faded a lot. Besides that I also use that Palmers stuff in the morning and at night.

Your stretch marks should fade in time.

As far as loose skin, that will tighten up over time. Make sure you're getting exercise so that your skin has a nice form to tighten up over. I would suggest pilates and some cardio.

I forgot to add, I heard that prefer-on for scars (like head-on for headaches) is GREAT for scars. I've been meaning to get some and try so I don't know first hand, just what ppl have told me.

Reviving an old thread with a question - if you use Dermablend or whatever body makeup to cover up stretchmarks, won't it rub off on custies? Or possibly on an outfit? I've obviously never used Dermablend before but I was thinking about buying some....those are just my concerns.
