    Default eye pain

    Last night I noticed the cornea area of my eye was sore. It felt kind of like bone around my eye was sore as well. This morning my cornea and eyelid are swollen. I wear contact lenses. Should I just take them out? Could the problem be the contacts or something else?

    Uh.. not only should you take them out IMMEDIATELY, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. Trust me. I almost lost my sight twice this last few months because I didn't go sooner.

    I had severe photophobia where I couldn't even look at my phone in complete darkness because the glowing numbers blinded me and made me cry.

    Turns out an infection had trapped beneathe my contacts and my eyes were literally festering with pus and goo underneath the contacts because I left it in too long (a day! a fricken day!).

    OMG, wow, well, I took mine out. I don't have pus or severe inflammation. I'll leave mine out for a couple of days.

    I don't see well in the dark. If there is a lot of traffic the lights bother my eyes. I pretty much avoid driving in the dark if it's raining. I have astigmatism which might have something to do with it.

    You might be interested in the links in this thread though I think the first one has shifted. - Not suggesting your sloppy on the cleaning, just that the articles give insight to what can happen.

    The first doctor told me to leave mine out for a few days and when I put them back in, I got infected again. They eye surgeon later said you really need to take them out for 3 weeks once they get infected because of the way contacts trap bacteria. I was never inflamed. Just red-eyed at first... then very sticky eyeballs.. o.O;

    Omg! I'm having this same sorta problem^^^ only, I don't wear contacts! I thought it was triggered by the acrylic in the nail shop the other day...?

    No itching or burning, just pain in one eye, and extra gross buggers in the eye in the morning (its been three days!).

    I tried to look at my cell phone in the dark the other night, and it made me cry in pain! My eye is red, I used some Visine, and it cleared it up, but after a few hours the redness returns, just less noticeable.

    Well I did have an eye infection like that it was just the contacts made it worse - so you might have the same thing! Go to an eye surgeon (optomologist) and go get some stuff called 'eye gel'. I forgot what the doctor gives you, but it's another drop you'll be needing.

    Yeah I have the weeklies... I got the infection before putting in my contacts (the first time) and didn't know I had a problem until it was too late. Because I don't take them out daily, my risk of infection when I have other illnesses, such as colds, is MUCH greater.

    I decided to forget the cost and quickly switch to dailies after that... and I wear my glasses again a lot more now, too.

    Pft, I only did it originally because my former boss said she'd give me more work. My new boss could care less. So less contacts!

    Sorry, didn't mean to make this about me... just wanted to say everyone who has eyeproblems should see an eyedoctor as quickly as possible! The second time the doctors were VERY scared I'd permanantly lose my sight, so watch out! These aren't just cuts and bruises we're talking about... they're your eyes!
