^^^I did the mashed potatoes and ranch thing once too, only it was by accident. I thought it was white gravy. Was NOT as enjoyable when I didn't know what the hell I put in my mouth!
OK for some reason this thread struck me as immensely funny this morning. We just spent two pages totally raving about...salad dressing.

I hate ranch. But I feel the same way about A-1 steak sauce. I put that shit on baked potatoes, steamed broccoli, hamburgers, chicken, tofu, french fries, what the hell ever. I'm sitting here salivating right now just thinking about A-1. EVERYTHING is better with A-1 on it.
When I was living in Australia I went through major A-1 withdrawals... my parents came to visit and I begged for a bottle of A-1. They brought me TWELVE BOTTLES. The first thing I did was swig a mouthful of A-1 straight from the bottle and it was heaven.





I bought some A1 recently to see what the big deal was and I still don't get it.
I think I prefer Heinz 57 sauce to A-1, but Peter Luger is my favorite.

Reminds me of those A1 commercials where theres one drop left in the bottle in the restaraunt. So all the men in the place hop up and down on the floor so that the guy can get that last drop.....

I am eating a baked potato smothered in salt butter and ranch, right now. Mmmmm...Did you know they make potatoes pre-wrapped in the produce section, so that you just pop them in the microwave for 7 minutes and Voila' you've got a homemade baked potato!
I dont like ranch,but I feel this way about cheese. Everything is better....dipped in cheddar!!

HELL YEAH! A-1 is amazing. I drink it straight from the bottle when I'm PMSing.
I'm kind of a condiment queen. I love ketchup, yellow mustard, sour cream, hot sauce of all types, salsa, steak sauce, and ranch dressing are my favorites. Anything and everything gets doused in one of the above, depending on my mood!![]()

OTOH I put ketchup on EVERYTHING!!!! I'll just put it on a plate and eat it alone, or just on bread, or goldfish, pork chops, carrots, obviously all sandwichs, chicken, ANYTHING....yummy. But I'm teaching myself to love mustard b/c its healthier.

MMMM ranch and A1 are the best! I use to love to mix them and dip steak pieces in it. I dont eat meat anymore though damn it...I love to put ranch on chocolate though, yes im gross..

'Course, I've been saying the same thing about Memphis BBQ. The way Australians devour pork, BBQ sauce, and coleslaw, I'm amazed that none of them have thought to combine all three into a single sandwich. Shame I keep kosher, I'd bring Memphis pit BBQ to Brisbane and sit back to count my gold for the rest of my life.
