    Brag about your pets!!!

Since there are so many animal lovers/owners on SW, I thought it would be fun for all of us to make post about the cute/funny things our pets do.

    I'll start:

Jade (my kitty, about 3 1/2 years old...see "my kitty's halloween costume" in the pic section) carries a money beanie-baby around in her mouth EVERYwhere she goes! She treats it like it's her baby kitten! She is the sweetest cat EVER!

Gypsy (the newer cat, quite a troublemaker) steals things and puts it in her food bowl! My boyfriend actually found a small sack of his weed in her bowl!!! I've found stale pieces of bread in there, underwear, anything she can get ahold of!

Lucy, talks back since she's part hound

Jada, learning how to howl, looks both ways when she crosses the street and only crosses in the cross walk (learned this when she ran away from a neighbor.)

CAT slams her entire 5lb body into doors to flip the latch and open them, makes a lot of noise for such a small cat.
these are just one thing about each that I just thought of.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Oh yeah- and both of my cats, out of NOWHERE, will just start frantically chasing eachother around the whole apartment! It seriously sounds like a mini stampede!

My cat generates more puke than any other cat in the world. If they had a Cat Puking Olympics, he would be the gold medalist hands down. He's a champion.

I love my kitten, Leilani. She's very clever and very obedient (most of the time ). She knows how to play fetch and never fails to use her litterbox, even when mama's been bad and hasn't cleaned it in a while. She has the cutest, sassiest personality and loves to talk to me and give me kisses on my nose.

Peanut my kitty I found her in a box at a construction site with her siblings. She fit in my hand and I took her home. She was so small and completely nuts! so I said "man she's the size of a pea!" and my hubby said "and she's nuts!" so there is Peanut!

She is my friend, we play hide and seek and she chases me around the house. I love Peanut with all my heart cause I am the only one that gets to see the real her.

My tiny pug is the fastest runner I know. When letting her outside she will go down a flight of stairs, pause look up for approval, and then give a scream while continuing to run to use the bathroom. She does not like to sit her tush on the floor. She will only sit on Something, platform, rug, a cushion she took out fom one of her beds that she drags around the kitchen, the couch, a blanket, etc. She chews on pencils, and looks as though she is writing. She steals thongs and socks and hides them on the sides of her beds. When I'm about to let her outside, she jumps, hits the wall with her paws and does a half flip. I have never had a dog before, so this is quite curious. She is also a very high jumper and jumps on the couch, bed, and these fairly high chairs I have in the kitchen. She doesn't do it often, I have to egg her on a bit. She is almost cat like sometimes. Love pets now that I am a pet owner.

Everybody agrees I have the nicest pets ever.

    2 dogs and 2 cats.

Puppy 1: 10 months. Pound puppy. Litter had parvo. Got her at 12 weeks.
Puppy 2: 6 weeks. She is a PISTOL.
Big guy: Old and wise. Retired street fighter. Tougher than most dogs. Super mellow personality. Never starts a fight, but he can finish it. Kitty has been with me the longest.
Little naughty: Very plush looking cat. All are cute, but she has an exceptionally beautiful face. Its misleading because she is mischevious. Also shelter cat.

Peanut is so much healthier now..she even plays with Butter! It annoys me so bad when they chase each other through the house when I'm trying to sleep because they startat one end, run through the house, and land on the bed. Usually right on my chest. Catapult kittys! It wakes me up and pisses me off...but how can I be mad? I haven''t seen her have the energy or will to act like that in 2 years. Itmakes me so happy.

Butter....oh butter. My little retard. I swear her mom dropped her on her head as a baby. She just isn't smart. She prefers to view the world upside down.

Both of them love to talk. They don't whine or complain, but they love to talk, all the time. I can ask a question, and get an answer.

They are both the bestcat's I've ever had. Their personalities are so different, and compliment each other and us so well. Peanut is calm and smart and normal, and Butter is funny, goofy, stupid and playful. She is a permentant kitten who never grew up.

    I love this thread!

Glamis is cat#1. I snuck him home one day (that in itself is a great story but long) and he has been the funniest cat ever! He dosn't meow, he almost barks. Sounding more like "Maht!" He opens doors if he wants in a room. He fetches. He will be walking through the house, stop in his tracks, flop down on his back and fall asleep if he so desires. Middle of the room, hallway, doesn't matter.

Bently, my dog. Bently is so special to me! He is my border collie. I grew up with border collies and that was the one kind of dog I knew I wanted when had a home suitable for a dog. On mother's day my hubby said I could finally get a dog. I found one and went to go see him, he was born on my birthday! The woman said to me "THis dog's a little funny, he's sweet, but not exactly bright." Well, sounds good to me!
He has turned out to be the bestest dog/friend/second child/couch snuggling partner I've ever had. He can catch anything in the air. He is instinctively gentle with babies and older people, when he's really happy he makes piggy snorting sounds and I never EVER heard him bark, not once...until a bad man came to our door one day.
    I wuv my doggy.

Lastly is Trixie. She wasn't our cat originally. She belonged to a neighbor (I wrote about that before) but she wasn't happy there, she used to hide a lot and whine a lot. Now she's moved in with us, sleeps under my covers at my feet, has fur like a bunny rabbit and the silliest, driest croakiest meow! She's nosy, and goofy and perpetually playful. She always tackles my feet when I walk and if I sit down for a second she's in my lap doing that kneeding thing with her paws on my tummy. I love her so much and I'm glad she chose us.

    My doggie.

My wolf/husky, 10 years old, Beja is probably 30 pounds overweight and will perk up from complete sleep if she hears the word "cookie", she is adorable and shy and lovingly cleans Diesel, my dane, like a little mommy. She lived through an F5 tornado and now everytime she hears a thunderstorm she runs to daddy(my hubby) or goes inside our closet.

My Great Dane, 8 years old, Diesel loves to play hide and seek(Beja does it for the cookies). I take them to the bedroom and wait for daddy to hide, and when he's ready I let them loose until they find him. Then I take a turn hiding. They love it! When he was younger he used to jump over the backyard fence, back and forth, just b/c he could. Now he needs help up onto the bed and will bark so we help him. They are amazing!

We also have a family of 3 frogs living in a hole by our back patio, Charlotte, Martie and Ella.

Pamela your babies look amazing, I miss my Boa

Anyway, living with me at the moment is:

Jester Rupert Shinobi Halo Taylor, my Crested Powderpuff. He was only meant to stay a week with me when he was 10 weeks old, 8 years later and he is still here, He is literaly a life saver though (long story). He is a talented boy, he sings and dances (ooh I should post his video!), has the coolest doggy hairdoo in all of doggyland and sticks his chest out on walks as if he is a scary Rotty.
He has done a lot of partying in his time, he even accompanied a model down the catwalk once with silver highlights in his hair. But he just likes to snooze these days.

    This is Jester dancing:
    http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...terdancing.flv

    Will that work? Who knows...

Also there is Missi `Carrot Cake` Capulet, same breed who came to live with us a few years ago because her tail was too curly so her owners coudnt show her *rolls eyes*. She is better off here anyway. She is totally bombproof, nothing bothers her, she is even helping Jester with his fireworks phobia.
She is a pretty little healer who wont leave me alone when Im sick of upset, if she were a person she would be a nurse I think

Buffie, I had to share a great dane story with you, because I thought it was so amazing and I think owning you would understand this behavour.

When I was in high school I was sick quite a bit because of my tonsils. It was a serious problem. One night I had spent the night at friends house an woke up in the midle of the night not feeling well. I went to the bathroom thinking I would be sick and looked at the clock on my way, it was 4:30ish. I went in, sat on the edg of the tub with my head in my hands and when I looked back up at the clock it was about 6:15! Anyways, to the good part...I got up and was going to wake my friend up so we could call my mom, I made it abou halfway down the hallway when the room spun and I passed out, hitting my head on something in the fall. I was out cold.

When I woke up hearing voices "Come on girl, come on. Easy Baby...." It was my friend's dad, talking to their great dane "Baby". She was standing over me, two legs on either side of my body, growling at the dad! As soon as I made a noise she looked down at me, slobbered my face and took off, happy as usual!

They said they have no idea how long she was standing over me, they woke up and found me in the hall with the dog guarding me! Crazy! K....story time is over now.

Our little mutt Jake is always on one extreme or the other. During the day when I'm parked on the computer for hours, he's always sleeping in his chair next to me. But when he's up, he is freaking BANANAS. We call him a "fnut" which is code for fucknut, which is how he acts.

He loves to rub his head on the ground--he'll stick his butt up in the air, shove his head onto the carpet, and lawnmower himself across the house.

The funniest thing about him are his sounds. I'm going to try to describe them, good luck me! First, his bark sounds like a little old man. BAH-ar-ar-ar-ar. The other funny one is when he sings like a walrus. The Hubby and I will start howling and Jake will join in. EEEEEEEorroooooooo. God I sound retarded.

Anyway he rocks. He's no cat but he's definitely my baby.

I rescued a beautiful black cat last Jan. (actually my friend rescued it but couldn't give him a home becasue her four cats rejected him). She also told me it was a girl and was calling 'her' Panther. Thinking it was girl and finding 'Panther' a generic name for a black cat, I decided to change it up a bit and call it"Pantera". Three days after P. came to my home, we took it to the vet and found out it was a boy. Pantera is still the name.

He is a big, muscular, athletic cat, a little over two years old. He is very dog-like. He is quiet, yet active. He does flips in mid-air, he doesn't jump on the counter of get on the furniture, he is friendly with all domestic animals and he loves people. He will walke into our neighbor's places. He doesn't mind being on a leash and will even walk a few paces w/ me before he plops down. He's cool with being in the car and doesn't mind traveling.

But with all this friendliness, he is a HUNTER. I mean seriously. In the past he has brought home mice, a bird and a banana slug..eeek!! They are usually in bad shape once he drags them up the flight of stairs to get to my place. But a few days ago, he brought home a 6 lbs. squirrell!! Pantera broke his lower back and the poor guy was crying. He dragged him into our bedroom! We got the little guy and put him out in the garden, but he couldn't move his back legs. We called the vet and they said there was nothing we could do. So we took him to the humane society, so at least he would be comfortable for a while.

Yeah, my big cat with legs as thick as pork chops, as friendly as a little dog is to be feared by suburban 'wild animals'.
