Default Should I send a condolences card?

My English prof's mom just died and he'll be out for the next week. Would it be too personal to drop a condolences card in his box at the department? Or should I just email? Or do nothing? It's a big class, but he does have some idea who we all are and I know he's been suffering a bit this past week knowing his mom was ill, but still teaching and hanging in there.

I think it would be a wonderful gesture to send/drop off a card. Just something short and sweet.

Nope would be quite appropriate. Keep it simple with a "soRry fr your loss" and I am sure that will be appreciated.

    Right TOO?

I think its a perfect idea.

Condolence cards are never in bad taste in my opinion.

Just keep it short, simple and don't assume you know them too well. A simple "I'm sorry for your loss" would probably be very welcomed.

If you are wondering whether you should, then you should. You could send a card or an email, but also, most mortuaries today have an online presence where you may post messages of condolence.
