I thought my yasmine went through litter and she's 19 weeks old!
I have 2 adult Ragdoll males that weigh about 15lb each. However, they use the litter box separately. But yeah, PG2K6, they burn through that "Multi-Cat Formula", even though it's scoopable.

P.S. They share their cat food with my wife's 5lb Shih-Tzu puppy that's (thankfully) too short to hop into the litter box...

your not exactly comparing apples with apples here guys.

a moggy cat from a shelter, sure its cute, sure its worth adopting, but for somone planning to buy one of these hybrid cats, they are looking for something else.

maybe a regular moggy wouldnt suit their lifesyle, maybe the regular cat thing isnt for them? i dunno, but i just dont see a hybrid breed in the same catagory as a moggy, or any pure breed for that matter.

i know when i was looking into a breed of dog to get, its nature and disposition was important to me, also its looks. sure i could have just grabbed any old thing from the shelter, but at the end of the day,if your knowledgable about the breed your going to be better off with handling it, and knowing common health complications.

Heheh. Does anybody else think this pussy is going to kill every other cat in the neighbood, and take a few dogs (pugs, please) for good measure?

I happen to think genetically engineered pets for our amusement is an interesting business. Look, humankind has been selectively breeding animals for characteristics for thousands of years. This is just the latest version of that. And I think it's cool. If I had the money, I'd buy this science experiment. (Although I'd be scared it'd eat my current cats, and that would be crossing the line.)

It is really pretty but I'd be scared of it, and I think thats a little much to spend on a cat, when like evryone said, you can go to a shealter and get one.

    CE, you just reminded me of a joke! I'll adapt it to this thread;

So a woman in her back yard hears a little girl crying over the fence, she peeks into the neighbors yard and sees little Susie crying and digging a hole.
    "Oh Susie hunny! What's wrong?"
    *sob-sniffle*
    "My bird is dead"
"Oh Susie! How sad! And what are you doing there?"
    *sobs* "I'm gonna bury it."
The woman watches for a minute and say "Susie, that's so sad hunny, but that's an awful big hole for one little bird."
*BIG SOB* "That's because it's inside your fkng hybrid cat!"

Perfect. Actually, I was expecting a slew of pug-lovers to bash me about my post. Not a one.

I have to admit that's gorgeous, but I rescued my cat and he is nearly 20 lbs, athletic and just as beautiful. Also, I know he will never try to turn on me as he has already tried to resue me.

(I got locke out of my apartment w/ him inside. Long story.)

I like the idea of hypoallergenic cats though. Now THAT'S a cool thing.

Actually, there is already a hypo-allergenic cat breed which is the result of mother nature not high tech ... Siberians ! I've had one for about 5 years now.

(snip)"A Siberian kitten is a great choice for the cat lover with allergies - as they do not have FeLD protein in their saliva which creates dander, and are hypoallergenic, or not an allergy problem to most allergy sufferers."(snip)
