Last week, I was onstage and I spotted one of my favorite regulars (producer at a TV network, coolest old dude EVER, total dapper older gentleman) sitting with another dancer. My stage set finished, she walked away from him, and I went and sat with him. He always gets dances, VIP, bottles of champagne, brings me DVDs and merchandise, we text often about OTC stuff, we laugh non-stop, we have nicknames for each other, doesn't want OTC action, and he's a pleasure to be around. Perfect regular.
I didn't realize she had gone on one of the 4 stages, she came back as if to be like "WTF?" Mr. Awesome Regular sensed something was up, and explained he's known me forever, put his hand over mine, and she eventually left us alone. I know it probably wasn't PERFECTLY polite, but he asked me to stay. He even brought me a CD. I never hinted she should go away. He's my regular! He offered me a drink as soon as I sat down and she didn't have one - isn't that an indication I should stay? Apparently he's known her for a while too, but I didn't find that out until she was gone.
So I went to work last night, and a similar thing happened with THREE more guys. I spoke to guy #1 and #2 by the showbar, and guy #3 by mainstage. This was the situation with everyone, honestly - I would speak to each of the guys, do some dances, and they all asked to me come back eventually. Guy #1 and #2 were practically being "babysat" by Miss Inadvertant Enemy, as soon as she walked away, they asked me to come over. One even grabbed my hand and said "She won't leave me alone! Hide me!" I didn't even know guy #3 had spoken to her earlier, but as soon as I sat down with him, she came over and asked "Aww you don't want me anymore?" WTF? Is she out to get me?
I was called onto Showbar with Guy #2 and she sat down with him as soon as I left. He and I were joking earlier that I'm 17 and he's 22 (he has a full head of grey hair, btw). So he cracked a joke to her when I walked by "She's 17, you know!" and she snapped "No she's not. She's a liar." WHOA! I tried to be nice and said, "Yea, and he told me he's 22!" She, out of the blue, said "You're the reason I can't be Roxy. I've been Roxy for 20 years" (my stagename, I've worked there longer than her, I don't care if you're dancing into menopause)
I don't know what to do, other than make my money and stay out of her way. I didn't mean to be rude to her, but it's not like strip club relationships are monogamous. I think she's taking it to the next level when I meant no harm.
