Anyone see it ?
Anyone see it ?
No but I want too.
DAMN that was a fucking good movie. Saw it last nite....
That's what I heard ! I really want to see it . I was going to go tonight but I decided to hang out at home with the pup.

Longer than "Lord Of The Rings", 'Cesca?
Someone told me it's about 3 hrs.

It's not how long you make it, it's how you make it long.
After two hours, were you wishing they would get to the point? Or was it so interesting that you didn't notice that it was three hours long?
I can't wait to see it!! I want the soundtrack too.
I think this was the movie Denzel was shooting when I saw him in NYC. Across the street until the asshole production crew made us leave....I'd be very interested in this.

I'm picky as hell too along with an attention span that usually caps out at 40 minutes...I love me some true stories tho, and Denzel, and Rusell Crowe, and .....hmm lots of bleary and bleak Jersey scenes too, felt like home, ahh.
I also have trouble watching "dude movies" and "action movies" because I never know who da funk the ppl's names are, who they work for, etc. so I get all confused. But this movie has it goin' on.

it wasn't very good. stapling together scarface and serpico was a total misstep. a movie that wasn't 'redemption of mcwhitey (crowe's character)' and was actually about the life of frank lucas (as the press misleadingly implied) would have been risky, dangerous and an amazing film to view. also it would have been shorter.
ah well, maybe someday someone will make the much better movie.
oh GOD!!!!!! I was SO enthused with the 70's!!! How groovy was it that they got all those details down? In the beginning, I thought if the movie loses me at least the 70's will be my fave part of it, but surprise--easy to follow and oh so vintage.
I also tried not to overthink about it, like are they making Mcwhitey out to be a hero he wasn't ? Are they totally PC? It was enjoyable all around cinematically, tho I'm sure some ppl and critics will take issue with how PC or un PC it was, it would be hard not to. I also haven't read any books on the topic, but now I want to. It was still great entertainment, that's the main thing I look for in movies nowadays...I used to get so worked up and indie this and waste of my time crap, but hey.
I read an article in Glamour ( I know but there weren't any other mags) that was writen by the dealer's daughter. It was fairly interesting . That's kind of what made me want to see it.

^^Here's another good article about Frank Lucas...
Yea that's what the movie was based on, I was like, sweet.

I didn't realize the movie was 3 hours! I didn't feel a thing! It was beautiful. I loooove that Denzel played that asshole unsentimentally. They should have gotten an ugly actor to play that black-hearted bastard! See BET's interview with him and you'll know what I mean. I'm also a little bitter because I used to live 4 blocks from "his" corner and it kills me to think of him f-ing the place up back then and paving the way for the assholes who sell there now.

I saw it last night! It was so good, but I wasn't even thinking about the time so I couldn't tell you how long it was.
Saw it and liked it. However, Crow's accent was a couple shades off from a true New York one, and that was distracting, at least for me. His lady divorce lawyer, however, was perfect.
