Memory Foam Overlay or Magnet Wool Underlay?

I know I need something for my bed as I wake up with aches almost every time I sleep at home on my bed. I know I need a new pillow as well as something to put on top of the mattress... the question is whether I will be better off with just a Memory Foam overlay or a Magnetic Wool underlay ??? Which would be better suited to me and help me wake up feeling great not having back and neck aches?? This is only medium priority at the moment since I'm not home alot this month yet I will be home heaps in December. It will be a huge priority when I get home from Melbourne.

I'm not sure about the positive effects of magnets. I bought some magnetic inserts for my shoes, and they made my feet feel all warm and energized. But after they were in my shoes awhile and I stopped thinking about the magnets, my feet felt, well, just normal.

Another example: my friend let me try his expensive magnetic massager on my knees. Wow! They ached, and the massager made them feel better. I started saving up the $300 to buy one. Then I was at the pharmacy, and they had a $10 massager. I tried one, and it vibrated on my knees and made them feel just as good as the expensive magnetic massager. So I bought one and saved $290.

So I think that maybe the effects from magnets are all in the head--you think they will help, so they do.

Memory foam is really comfortable and relaxing, and the pad is a lot cheaper than buying a mattress. But you can beat that price on eBay.

I have to say that our memory foam overlay is one of the best purchases we've made (or that my aunt made for us when I was 9 mos. pregnant). We have a shitty futon mattress and you can't even feel it being underneath the foam now.

Ive never heard of that magnetic thing. I have a memory foam mattress and I love it! I never wake up with back pain.

I'm not sure I believe in the magnet hype, but I LOVE my memory foam overlay. We have a very old shitty mattress and can't afford to replace it, but it wasn't comfortable and we weren't sleeping well on it. I got a great deal on a memory foam overlay on Overstock.com and instantly I was sleeping just as well as my cat. Go with the memory foam, you'll love it.

I'm also sleeping on a 'not so crash hot' mattress as it's the mattress from my fold out Sofa Bed since I had to turf my really nice Queen Bed ensemble due to bed bugs (which I got from one of my work trips at a hostel I stayed within).... thus the reason I wake up with aches and pains.

Looks like I will go with the memory foam after-all (like I originally planned )... just wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with either.
