That 'thing' needs to be ass-raped with the hammer. Over and over and over. Stories like this break my heart
Poor woman, imagine how traumatizing it would be for him to get out of prison after a few years.

It's infuriating. Even if she is un-educated or a "doped up slut, "she should be attacked with a hammer ? WTF ? Why does any of that matter ? It should NEVER be OK to attack ANYONE with a hammer !!!!!! Why don't people get that ???? Even if she was high on crack and trained the football team , IT'S ILLEGAL to attack people !!!!
sorry , I get a little worked up over things like this

I know one thing, that man should not be out roaming around town. I believe that was attemped murder. He should be in their for life. I dont care if she was stupid. She cant help it, to me thats like being retarded! Certain people are not wired to comprehend things. It dose not give that man the right to brutaly abuse the woman. What is really sick is the justice system approach towards his violent attempt and action. He perform these actions on a person. who values may seem poor, by the media. Who's to say his urge for that rush a peron gets with violence of that sort, he wont give in and do it to another woman. Who the media and all who is around her think she is a saint.
When you sick, your sick there is no other away around the matter. I dont think it is fair to let them off so eaily to hurt someone else!
It is like they want the bad people out there in the towns.

I dunno, I might, I like to think the ppl I smoke and sex with wouldn't be like that, one of those could happen to anybody type things, wasn't like he was a complete stranger. (I dunno, I'm a hs dropout tho so you know) All those towels tho, and completely covered? Better have a serious good reason. 'Cept ---it was a sc customer in the first place, that's what she shouldn't have done, goes w/o saying though.
Wow, I just love all the dirt they dug up.![]()
Also, that's the only other time I've heard of Sweetest Day, besides the girl on here that posted it 3 years in a row.....wtf

OK, good news on this story, believe it or not!
A dancer who started at our club a week or so ago, and just started working nights, told me she was from Flint. I immediately mentioned this story and how awful it was.
Turns out she has known her for 5 years and still talks to her. Apparently she still looks good (or will again without question) and will fully recover--though it required something like 135 stitches or so.
Also, according to this dancer, the guy was planning on killing more strippers--she was the first of his intended victims, but because she fought back, his plans were derailed--thank god!
I don't know how that will affect the charges, but it sounds like he won't be getting off so easily now perhaps.

(*Cary Stayner is the infamous Yosemite Park Killer- his letters and confession show that he enjoyed what he did. These guys are not victims of mental illness, they are plain evil.)
& For you judgemental types, if these guys are foiled by "streetwise" women, they just move on to easier targets, like children, naive women and the elderly. A crime against a sex worker is not a crime to ignore. It is often a sadist's starting point.

How in the world did I miss this story?! I'm so angry at society right now...it shouldn't matter what your profession is. It is NEVER okay to be attacked with a hammer. I'm seriously so sick of hearing "oh well she was just a stripper"
bah. I'm so angry I can't type. I'm glad she's doing better though.
There's a wild side behind every innocent face.
End violence against women.

It's too late for it to make it to the "Letters" page, but I wrote to the editor anyway:
I am writing to you in regards to the recent article, “Flint man faces prison over beating of dancer”.
As the holder of a bachelor’s degree in Journalism I find this much of this article unprofessional. As a human I find it distasteful. And as a fellow dancer I find it heartbreaking.
This young woman is lucky to be alive after enduring this senseless and heinous crime. The attempted assaulted on her character is unforgivable. Had she been a waitress at a local restaurant or a college student would you have even mentioned her education level, let along referred to her as a “10th grade dropout”? Or referred repeatedly to her sexual relationship with the assailant or described their drug use in such detail? This article reads more like a sensationalized cautionary tale for “wayward girls” than a news item about a local violent crime against an innocent citizen.
It would seem the hidden message in this article is that the “uneducated, doped-up slut must have had it coming.”
Shame on the Flint Journal.
^^Love it! Gets me kinda inspired to write an op-ed. I love reading things that end with "shame on___" The Flint Journal is like a lowly version of the New York Post I guess. Pretty low!

Even worse, though, would be charging him with attempted murder and him being found not guilty, right? I think he was trying to kill her, but innocent and not guilty are different things; they still have to prove it. Like others said, after the Duke case a jury is going to have preconceived notions about her. My bet is that even though he was trying to kill her, the DA may not have thought they'd be able to prove it. So they offer him a plea, he agrees to the 10 years for assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, and they don't risk him walking.
EDIT:
P.S. Given that defense attorneys make so much more money than prosecutors working for the government, I tend to think that attorneys don't choose government work unless they either (1) suck as lawyers, or (2) truly feel strongly about putting criminals in prison. They dropped the attempted murder charge because they went with the best option to guarantee a conviction.
