    Default jojoba oil for hair

Does anyone use this for their hair? I'm trying to help my thin damaged chemically treated hair. My poor fur. I'm almost ready to go back to light brunette. Mostly honey blonde on top and dark brown on the bottom.

If any of you do use this tell me how it turned out.

I rescued my hair over the last year. It was an overdyed platinum blonde punk rock mullet that grew out into a fucking ratted mess. So damaged. It is now approaching bra length and very healthy. I know you didn't ask for a bunch of info, but ima give it to you cause I would have wanted it

    1) No silicones or sulfates. I use Mastey Traite Shampoo and Frehair conditioner. The shampoo treats your hair like a conditioner but actually *cleans* it. And I have oily, dirty-girl hair.

    2) Minimize washing period. Every other day or less if you can get away with it.

    3) Weekly treatment with a homemade shea butter, jojoba oil, olive oil and aloe gel masque

    4) Smooth on a mixture of 3 parts aloe to 1 part jojoba oil when hair is feeling dry. It acts like those silicone smoothers but actually nourishes instead of depleting moisture like silicone does.

I brought my hair back from the DEAD with this routine.

Thanks for the info. I'm so tired of buying product after product and nothing is helping. The aloe vera gel is that the same kind used to sooth sunburn?

I use it and it HAS really helped even though I forget lots of times. I had a thread about hair a bit ago and I've been doing it since. Every thing Dotty says is golden. My variation:
I wash my hair maybe twice a week.
I try to put the jojoba on the ends every day.
Cholesterol or honey masque when I have time.
I don't use actual shampoo or conditioner-I have stuff I make. If you google No-'Poo you'll see.
No chemical dyes anymore (hair's still recovering from this)
I keep my hair up or in braids, especially while sleeping.

I'm not as methodical as I'd like, because I have no time right now, but I am going to try the aloe/jojoba thing!

    Hey, sweetie!
I prefer avacado oil, which contains natural vitamin e.
I also just used & loved Ellin Lavar brand Reconstruct Masque. You dampan hair, put it in, comb thru & leave in for 10 min. or? I left mine in overnight, & I love it. She is an African American lady, has a whole line of products, they sell @ CVS drug, she has website (her name spelled out). I think Ulta carries it, but I think they may be discontinuing it. I also love Coloresse leave in spray for damaged hair to detangle. I like Pantene spray also, but the Coloresse (avail. @ Sally's) is my new fav

Well, you have to be careful because lots of thse have tons of crap in them other than aloe (like lidocaine--which isn't even good for sunburns, actually!). Fruit of the Earth makes aloe gel that is 99% aloe (the other one percent is the stuff that makes it gel and necessary preservatives s it doesn't rot) so it's basically pure aloe. Get that stuff. I got mine at Meijier. I'm sure yu can find it anywhere. It was $4 for a big bottle. I use that aloe/jojoba mixture daily. I only apply it to the ends and only when my hair is dry (as in not wet) or it gets greasy. Otherwise it's amazing.

And I was at the end f my fucking rope about prducts and shit. I didn't want t buy a bunch of supposed miracle cures either because none of those things ever seem t work. But I wuld really stress the importance of a good sulfate and 'cone free shampoo/conditioner combo.
