    Default Ohh Ouch!

Okay so I've officially been a dancer for two days now, and damn it hurts. My shoes gave me blisters on the first night and only rubbed them raw the next... and my upper legs and knees are so sore, it takes me two minutes to get out of any chair, and five minutes to get down any stairs (considering just throwing myself down stairs - it'd hurt just as much but take less time. lol)

How long did it take everyone else's body to adjust to dancing?

    At LEAST a few weeks...
    Warm up and warm down.
My ointment of choice is Tiger Balm. Goanna Oil is good too. There's 100s of things - just try them all 'til you find 'yours'.
    Fabric type bandaids are good.
    'Party feet' inserts are GREAT!!
Stretch (gently) and rub. Then rub some more.
Take a good look at your shoes too! (After filing down One of my shoes, countless little problems dissapeared.)
(And you could always pay someone to drag your ass around your house until you're on speaking terms with your body again?)

It took me a while to get used to it. The shoes and blisters... never really happened for me. You should wear your shoes around the house to break them in.

The leg and knee pain took about 2 weeks to get through. You should always stretch before and after work. Keep epsom salts on hand. Use arnica for bruising (and use it right after your post-work shower).

    Bets of luck...
