    Default Travelling Strippers and accomadation.

When you are away from home for awhile, where do you stay?

Ive heard some girls mention sleeping in a dorm, at a backpackers. Surely they are at risk of losing expensive things through theft?

Im looking at rooms in backpackers, as I feel more secure with my own space, and know Ill be able to sleep ok, without other people in the room.

    What do you do?

I prefer to stay in a small bed (4 bed) female only dorm at a hostel. I always make sure to find out before-hand if they have lockers in the room. I've stayed in quite a few hostels now and NOTHING has been stolen.

If anything, I gain items esp. books.

If you are going to get a room at a hostel, you might as well go book a room at a hotel/motel instead. Why? They cost the same in the end and if you are really that paranoid about your stuff being stolen then stay at a hotel/motel.

I also have luggage combination locks on my suitcases.

For instance, when I'm in Melbourne.. I generally keep my "work suitcase" in the secure storage room. I also do use one of the lockers in my room (I have my own lock I can use) to place anything valuable within it.

Honestly, tho', I've never EVER had anything stolen.

The great thing about hostels I prefer over hotels/motels is that I don't have to pay for all my accommodation up-front. Tho' I prefer to pay up-front for all my accommodation when I arrive, it at least gives me the option if I so desire to only pay for a week or something.

i am with v on this one, when i traveled i stayed in backpackers and nev had any thing stolen.

I stayed in a backpackers for about 6 months (a few different ones) and I stayed in a 4 star hotel for another 6 months and both experiences were positive, however what made me change from the backpackers to a hotel is bed bugs ... yep they are real and they make you itch like hell!! The backpackers had bad bed bugs in the end, and didn't really bother about exterminating them, rather they just kept saying 'we have sprayed the room, it will be fine'

The hotel was good in the fact that you get clean warm blankets, a bath, a nice shower and it is cleaned daily, plus they don't ask you questions of why your staying there so long

If you like privacy, a hotel is the way to go!

Bed bugs is now an risk that I take as I got them from one of my work trips and they infested my last home... and thus I had to dump a really nice queen size bed ensemble and have to dump my sofa bed as well plus the expense of exterminating them etc. Yeah, not a fan. Yet I will still prefer a hostel over a hotel anyday. Why? One word: kitchen.

I prefer to make my own meals when travelling away from home. A hotel doesn't allow you to do that and instead you have to fork out money to eat in-room or out and I rather save the dollars and cook my own. Plus alot of the hostels I stay within do free breakfasts and other assorted freebies.... so I do save money overall by staying at a hostel.

As for staying long periods of time and working at odd hours as well as coming back and leaving with a suitcase (and/or heavy make-up).... No one has ever bothered me. If they do ask what I am doing in [city], I say I sell costumes as well as waitress in various clubs.

Honestly, if your not making enough money traveling to afford a hotel room, why bother traveling? Just my opinion. I've traveled all over the US dancing and always stayed in hotels

It isn't about making enough money, it is about increasing my profit margin.

I increase my profits by staying in a hostel. I also find them enjoyable to stay within compared to hotels. It's all about the profits and I want to have as much of it as possible ...not have it whittled away thru expenses that CAN be decreased such as accommodation.

As I said in my previous post - one word --> kitchen. I prefer to make my own meals as I can save a lot of money that way as well as provide myself what I want to eat when I want to eat it without it costing me an arm and a leg to do so. I see eating out unless I really REALLY have to do so as a waste of money.

I watched Hostel II last night ... dont go to Slovakia. Or rather, if you meet a really pretty woman who recommends a day spa run the other way.

^^ I loved the twist at the end of that movie. For ONCE I wasnt able to know the ending before it came. I really liked it. Altho part 2 made the thing not seem like it could happen in real like like part one did. It made it more into a movie rather than a 'i wonder if this shit really IS around somewhere'

yep! I always thought I would like to go backpacking in europe, but now there's no fucking way! It was sooo real seeming.... I'd have too many nightmares! I love scary movies, but I am such a baby about them. The adrenaline I get makes it all worthwhile, even though I scream or cover my eyes sometimes! I thought #1 was one of the best recent horror flicks. But that make so much off it they just make it into a series...... and too much stuff changes..... and they are so rarely as good as the first.... Like the Saw series.... I don't even know if seing 4 is worth it..... 3 was aweful! it was more about the gore factor then about the actual plot. Ahhh! there are so many crappy horrors out now, everyone's just out to make $, not to make a great movie!!!! I like when the premise is sort of real, something possible. I get mad at movies like the fog, or shit like that...... where the killler issome wierd entity/ghost/whatever.....But I did like game over. (I think it was called that...) with sophia bush. I thought that was cool, even if the killer was a video game. Hey, props to them for being creative! lol.

ok. sorry bout the threadjack..... i got lost on a tangent!
