I think I would be like Keanu Reeves and give all my swag to the production assistants. Been there, done that, know how underpaid and underappreciated they are, and I'd hate to be one of those people who has money but takes everything for free while the ones who are struggling to buy food don't have anything.

I would ask the caterer for cornbread and greens cooked without pork, at least once a week. And a vanilla candle for my trailer would be pleasant.

I remember a story about the people from Van Halen asking for a bowl of M&M's, but with every light and dark brown one removed. Something about them resembling rabbit turds.

I worked on a show once and our lead actor - who wasn't even anybody, really, just a supporting actor on some sitcom - had an arrangement whereupon he stayed at the Four Seasons and every week the production had to furnish him with an eight ball and a prostitute. Every week. Meanwhile I was sleeping on the office floor because the production couldn't afford to put me up in a cheap motel.

Nah after reading through these, I gotta agree with Yek. It'd make my day to pamper my entourage and all those responsible for making me the success I (in my imaginary world) am. Plus the loyalty it would inspire would more than make up for my lack of unbroken Doritos.

But I'd have to have cheese and sparkling cider at all times. Mmmmmmmmm cheese. That's not unreasonable.

This story is true, one justification someone in the VH camp offered years later was that they would put in bizarre demands like that just to see if anyone from the venue read the rider *at all*; they would know that if they didn't get either the M&Ms at the show or at least a "WTF?" phone call from the provider before the show then the venue didn't bother reading the rider and the important stuff besides the M&Ms might also have been neglected.

However I don't buy that, it sounds like rock and roll ego to me.

Nice to know i'm not crazy for thinking htat way! Side note, I am jealous of you for getting to work with these people! I loved my concert hall sound production gig... Meet soooo many neat musicians! Best thing we ever had was the Capital Steps came, and gave EVERYONE remotely connected with the show their three most recent CD's.... Right on down to the ushers, and ticket office workers... Though the Preservation Hall Jazz Band was pretty fun... guys as old as my grandfather tryng to get me to tell them where to buy weed, or to hang out with them after the show.... whew....

OK, I just like seeing performers perform, and if i'm helping them, so be it!
