    Moving!?

    I am formulating a plan B...
I was talking to my boyfriend about where to go it i don't have visa in time. I am am debating to go back to the united states or stay somewhere else in Europe or somewhere else in the world. If i leave Germany my job of choice is dancing. I wouldn't be staying for more than either 90-180 days(depending on Germany's re-entry laws)
where are good places to go? I though about going back to CA, but i wont have a car and its not the best place for money and dancing, i have not ruled it out. Would NY or Vegas be the best to go back to?
I want to hear about the places you ladies are living(this will help give me good ideas and where i should consider)... how is the climate, money, safety, transportation etc...
Please i a really am desperate for help

I know my thread as interesting as others, but i really actually do need help and i really would appreciate responses
    ............
added: I also should mention that i am not gonna treat this like a vacation.
I am so stressed. I don't have anybody to stay with unless its in California and thats only one person, and i really don't want to go back to California, i hate it there. Staying with family is not an option either. I don't know what to do.

Nice, South of France. Gotta love the Cote d'Azur. You'll never want to leave - and it'll be a nice climate for winter.

Don't go to California if you hate it. And if you hate California for the same reasons I do, I wouldn't work in Vegas or New York either. What's your work style? What kinds of places do you tend to do well in?

I don't know if i hate CA for the same reasons as you.
I don't like the lack of money in CA, i don't like how everything is so spread out.
Rent is too high for the lack jobs and low minimum wage

will you list some of your reasons Yek?

Those are the same, but it's also the culture. People are so incredibly disrespectful, especially to strippers, and I get really stressed out because I have too much dignity and pride to be treated that way. Vegas upset me for the same reason, I'd be in my car crying every night because it was just so damn degrading to be treated like that.

In smaller cities, the management and customers are usually pleased to have dancers and they're more likely to treat you with courtesy and respect. If I were you I'd just go through C&R for awhile and look for the hidden gems that appeal to you.

I am kinda sad, it seems Yekkie and Stuart are the only ones who care enough so far to say anything at all. I see people posting all kinds of help for other people and when i post somethings that i am struggling it appears to be over looked. Is it something i am doing wrong? I try to give other people help as much as i can. am i over looking or missing something?

I mean no drama by this, i am just curious.

Considering the Euro is worth way more than the dollar. Well 1.46649 Dollars to make one Euro. I would stay in Europe if I were you. Can you be an economic refugee? Why not southern Europe, the Mallorcas, or the Gran Canarias? Catch all the Brits (whose money is worth more) on winter holiday?

What are you looking for? The best money? I think that might be as elusive as the best fishing spot. Do you want culture or recreation or climate?

I liked Montreal when I visited but I don't know what it's like living there...

    Pookie:

I'm hoping that you (and your guitar avatar ) land somewhere warm and hospitable, wherever that may be!

Having lived in England as a child, I have a natural aversion to gloom and rain. So did my late younger brother, who moved back to the U.K. in his adulthood but spent a lot of time in warmer parts of Europe & the Mediterranean...

Check out this website for info on various European spots...

    Good luck & chin up

P.S. Army Sgt mentioned Gran Canarias, which gets tourist traffic and is a colorful locale. However, my brother started a club security service there but did too well & was politely asked to leave by "local organized interests"

Do you have a valid state ID and Social Security card to work in the US? Because you will need one to work in Vegas and NY. When I worked in Key West they didnt ask for anything, not sure how Miami is or Jersey. Are you looking for a topless or nude club and how much touching can you deal with?

We care Pookie. Most folks lack the travel experience to help you out.

I still think staying in Europe is for the better. Travel will be cheaper for sure.

Takes almost $1.50 to make 1 Euro. Where as it takes it takes 2.07795 Dollars to buy one British pound. The winter holiday season is coming up fast. So head to southern Europe where the sun starved Scandanavians and Brits are coming for holiday. Get established and you can do well. Gran Canarias are lovely. The Costa del Sol of Spain especially any resorts near Gibraltar. Leasing agents advertise online and in newspapers. No fears your not the only person there that has to travel about for 90 - 180 days. There Denmark right next door. Absolutely wonderful people, if you are dancing this would be a friendly country.

Deutsche Bank is everywhere. If you have an account with them then you should be ok for reliable funds.

You know the post above re Spain isn't a bad idea. Somewhere like Marbella or Barcelona and you'll need a smattering of Spanish but not much and there is plenty of money about. It isn't cheap to live their by Spanish standards, but when compared to London or Paris it is virtually free!!

If you will only be moving for a few months, I'd suggest you go south - the weather will be much nicer. But if you like to ski, why not find somewhere in the Alps and spend your free days on the piste? In that regard, Austria seems to be excellent everywhere and I can speak from experience and tell you that the French Alps - especially Chamonix area - are wonderful.

    Good luck!

    Stuart

Check the laws carefully if you plan on staying in the EU to wait out the 90 days before you can enter Germany again as a 'visitor'. I was under the impression that you could not sit out your 90-180 days in any EU country. There are a few dancer agencies that can get you a 3 month contract in countries outside of the EU like the Carribean, Puerto Rico, etc and I believe there is an island very close to Germany where it is legal for Americans to work on a contract basis (check out laptastic.co.uk). Otherwise, you could try the midwest bookings where local expenses are likely to be lower than that of a big city. Good luck!

I went to the Ausländerbehörde (the place to register and get permit and stuff). They said i didn't have to leave the EU. I just had to leave Germany.
The laptastic is a great idea!
Does laptastic pay for travel? how does it work. All of these places sound so nice!

To be honest, with the Schengen rules being as they are, I don't really see why you can't be in Germany if you want. If you are there but not earning - so on trips back, how will they know unless you fly in? I presume that this is only an issue for you re income tax and nothing else.

I realise that the rules aren't the same for Americans as for Europeans, but still - once you are over here, open borders mean just that.
