    Default Attn cat experts

I just found a domesticated cat outside. I'm worried because one of her eyes is a little swollen and i can see a cloudy white spot on her iris. It's late and all the vets are closed; is there anything I can do to treat it? Should I just leave it alone?

The vets may be closed tomorrow too, not sure though. Hang on to her tonight if you can I guess and take her in first thing in the morn. I wouldn't know the first thing about treating it though.

If you can hold her..flush her eye with pure water....distilled if you have it.

Do you see any cuts on or around her eye that would indicate a fight or injury as opposed to a disease?

If so..treat the cuts with Neosporan. Put a tiny bit of Neosporin in her eye and close the eye so it spread over the whole eye.

Before you do any of this...call the vet. There has to be someone on call or an emergency clinic near you.

If you can get her to eat or drink and keep it down thats great. If you dont have cat food...give her chopped up boiled chicken or ground beef with white rice.Make sure there are NO BONES. And a big bowl of water. If you have Pedialyte you can try a bit of that to perk her up if she is dehydrated.

Update: the cloudy part of the eye looks like an actual bump. Like a ball of something.

Other than that she's in perfect health...very sweet...getting along with my other cats...I hope I find her owner; she's so nice.

Yes, they are. I'm not to worried, I'm guessing she hasn't been outside for more than a day anyway. She's not to scruffy or anything. The distilled water helped a lot, btw!
